This was the best pad thai outside of Thailand I've ever had. They nailed the simplicity and authenticity of the noodles. Also, lovely tuna tatar.
Definitely pricey but not ridiculous. Plenty of items available for less, as well as expensive dishes. So price from mid-range, to high-range.
We had a starter, tuna tatar, and shared two mains, beef curry and pad thai. Loved both but Pad Thai blew me away -- good sauces, and made it spicy when I asked. Waiter was lovely, friendly and professional.
**Update 2 years later: adding details of about 4-6 visits since my first review. Have gone back a few times in the last two years and quality still remains the same.
Dishes we love. The tuna tatar. Beautiful seasoning, mint and sweetness. This is the winner. Calamari and octopus appetizers. Octopus tasted like butter. Oysters were fresh from France, beautiful. Also had the monk fish dish last year and very good. The lamb red curry and green curry last year also lovely.
Tried the fried duck with "pancakes" today, I highly recommend this one, gorgeous! I'd even suggest it to split between two people perhaps they'd be willing to offer 6 and not 5 rice pancakes so it can be shared because its huge.
Then yesterday also came with a friend and tried the chilli basil mince beef with jasmine rice and an egg, and the server was nice enough to make it Thai hot, so I was crying with joy from an amazing really spicy dish.
Servers have always been really really nice, so thank you so much for accommodating us. It really makes a difference when people are polite and even make suggestions and chat with you, which they've always done so we don't feel intimidated to come here and get cold treatment like in some...
Read moreA long way from authentic!!! You will fool the average person, but not a Thai person that knows their food.
I will rate this as a Thai person who loves to cook REAL authentic thaifood.
Pad kra pao: First mistake here is that you’re using Holapa (thai sweet basil - sweet liquorice taste) and NOT KRAPOW (Bitter). It’s a whole different basil which gives a different taste. Don’t call it kra pao when it’s not, it’s missing a key ingredient. You’re making Pad Holapa and not Pad Kra Pao - if you can’t find the right basil then I understand, but don’t go calling it kra pao. Otherwise this dish needs more garlic and it didn’t contain any thai chilies - very mild tasting. Good rice and fried yolky egg. 2/5
Tom Yum: Decent tasting. Does have lots of the right ingredients. More on the sweet side than sour, because that’s what most western/caucasian people usually like. In Thailand this is much more sour tasting. 3/5
Service: not very welcoming by the woman in front, but the guy serving us upstairs was excellent and needs a raise. Dude cracks jokes and was very friendly. 4/5
Atmosphere: Nice looking restaurant, lovely...
Read moreA Taste of Thailand in the Heart of Gdańsk!
I had the pleasure of dining at Thai Thai in Gdańsk, and it was truly an outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in, the warm ambiance and attentive service set the tone for a great meal. The interior is way above average and it feels so luxurious!
The food was incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented. Every dish tasted authentic and freshly prepared, with just the right balance of spice, richness, and herbs that you’d expect from true Thai cuisine. I especially appreciated the attention to detail in the ingredients and the vibrant flavors that transported me straight to Thailand.
The staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. It’s clear they take pride in offering not just a meal, but a full cultural and culinary experience.
I’ll definitely be returning on future layovers—and recommending it to all my colleagues. If you’re in Gdańsk and love Thai food, this place is a must-visit.
Recommending the green curry!!!! Thanks to Pablo for the nice...
