CHEF Polish Cuisine — Restaurant in Gdansk

Either they changed the owner or the chef. Because the food is nothing like the reviews. We ordered a few plates, everything was overwhelmingly salty!!!

Especially, the soup is literally not drinkable at all - super super super salty and spicy - I tried to drink but really can’t, so I called the waitress, asking if the chef might have added too much salt and spice by mistake? She confirmed the soup was supposed to be sweet and sour (what a joke!), took it away but still charged me! The cabbage roles - which they highly recommend, are cold and hard inside.

We came because of the good reviews! So I was wondering where the good reviews came from? The photos on the reviews here don’t even match what they have now on the menu! The design of the plates are also different.

So it seems like an entirely different restaurant now!

When I was trying to make orders based on the photos in the reviews, the waitress was like: Those photos are not from us! We don’t have those dishes. I don’t know why they’re there 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

For starter, I strongly recommend Lithuanian cheese, which I found very tasty. The cranberry sauce was a bit spicy and together with two different types of cheese was splendid. Well done!

For main course, I had two dishes that originate from Lithuania “Zemaiciu blynai” with beef and “Kibins” with lentils, cheese, mushrooms.

Both dishes were delicious and I really enjoyed them. It was my first try of Lithuanian cuisine and it was great I must say.There are two complains regarding food that I can point out, first was the raw salad that contained tones of horseradish. Second one will be the tatar sauce added to “Kibins” that did not have any specific taste.

Yet another complain is not related to the food, but to the facility. I visited the restaurant on Saturday (week before publication of this review) and the toilet was not clean at all.

Overall, I recommend this restaurant as the food was good and prices were reasonable. The service and cleanliness especially should improve to be able to reach 5/5 rate.

We came here for dinner, and at first, we were a bit skeptical because the restaurant looked more something like a salad bar — very bright, with lots of different lights and colors.

But it turned out to be completely different from what we expected. The food was absolutely amazing — fantastic traditional Polish dishes, beautifully presented and with generous portions.

We also ordered cocktails, and we were genuinely surprised to find out they had their own bartender who made professional, top-quality cocktails. The flavors were excellent — perfectly balanced and beautifully served.

The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our visit.

Overall, it’s a really great restaurant. I understand they’re going for a bright, modern look, but with food and drinks of this quality, I think a warmer, darker atmosphere would suit it better and might attract even more guests.
