We (my friends and I) stayed here for 5 nights over a long weekend. We shared a three bed room, which was very nice and spacious for the three of us. The room was clean and included a wardrobe and fridge which was nice. The bathroom was also clean and very functional/suited for our needs. Water was very hot at times but that's not an issue. We also paid to have breakfast, which was an impressive spread (as one who is used to English breakfasts). Very much continental with a polish twist. It was also served in the basement which is one of the most interesting venues for breakfast. They also offered a lunch box takeaway in lieu of breakfast, which worked well for us as we left before the start of breakfast for two of our days there. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and were accomodating. The team spoke good English and where always on hand. The location of Eden hotel is right in the middle of old Krakow and the Jewish district. There is a small square outside of the hotel entrance with lots of nice restaurants and food outlets. It was less than 10 minutes walk to some of the historic attractions and ideal location to get to city centre. Bus/train station is about 30mins walk. The price for our 5 night stay and breakfast was very reasonable (we were amazed at the price of lots of things in Poland (compared to England) and hotel was also one of them. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely be using Eden again when we next visit...
Read moreWe booked a 3-night stay. The top-floor room had 2 single beds instead of a double bed, and the windows were in the single, so we had no view. Interior is old and dated, and not in a nice way. Common areas feel like the stuffy old house of a distant relative you'd rather not visit. The A/C was hooked up to an incredibly noisy pump/power supply that turned itself on and off 24 hours a day/night, making it virtually impossible to sleep. When we complained about this in the morning after the first night, we were told they were fully booked and no other rooms were available, that no manager was available to speak to, and that a 'technician' would be on site, but not until 8pm that night. When we returned to front desk that evening, we were told that the technician "hadn't shown up", so nothing could be done about the broken A/C and inacceptable noise level. A technician and manage would be there only the next morning. Again we were told that they were fully booked. After another unbearable night, on the last day of our stay, we were able to speak to a manager in the morning. He had a look at the room for 30 seconds (it was obvious that he was aware of the problem), and all of a sudden another room was available for us after all. In other words, we had been lied to by the receptionist for 2 days. Unacceptable service, no regard for their guests. Overall, a surreal experience, and one that I would not wish...
Read moreI stayed at the Eden for 3 nights. The hotel is in a really nice spot in the Jewish Quarter, a few steps away from some nice restaurants while still being nice and quiet. It is about a 15 min walk from the nearest train station (Grzegorzki - you can get pretty much anywhere from this station, including Auschwitz and the salt mines), and about 15-20 mins into the main square and tourist attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple, but lots of options. Being vegan, I did struggle a little with the breakfast and usually just had toast and an apple. But for the price, I can't complain! The building is lovely and has lots of character, room was tidy but a little dated. ||I would stay at the Eden again, but there were a couple of things that I noted:|- My room was right next to the stairs and reception, so it was quite noisy with people coming and going at all hours of the night, as the reception is staffed all night. |- The room was very dark and I had to have the lights on even in the day. I was out a lot, so it didn't bother me too much, but I imagine in the summer it would probably be quite stuffy! ||I'm not sure exactly how much I paid for the hotel as it was part of a package deal, but it can't have been much - the whole holiday was only £260. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice budget hotel...
