The reason for a lower score is the misunderstanding of my request by a staff member. I specifically asked if there are many vegan options for the buffet breakfast and the lady at the till rushed saying yes, yes just to charge 76zl for two sets. Don’t get me wrong the place is beautiful, but if you are allergic to milk products, don’t eat meat -you follow plant based diet, choose another place to eat. The spread for breakfast is wide and a vegetarian and a carnivore will be very happy. There are eggs, meats, a nice selection of bread. If you are vegan like myself, it’s very limited -almost all salads are with mayo or cream. No plant based milk available, if you ask they will give you soya but for oats it’s 3zl extra. This seems exaggerated since there is very little a vegan can have. I did ask before paying. The staff need to be more aware of what vegan or vegetarian is -my guess is the lady at the till maybe did not understand. Otherwise, it’s just to make someone pay. The place is super popular, it would be a good idea to put explanations for everything in English. Some customers had to ask about the meats -they wanted to know what contained pork. Read moreVery pleasant from entry. Nicely arranged interior, an inner courtyard with a cosy summer garden, where we decided to sit. Sadly the neighboring establishment has a rather cheap taste for music, and since they’re only separated by a tall fence, their sound was polluting our space.
There’s very nice variety on the menu---dishes from east and west altogether. We chose quickly but… waited quite a while for anyone to come and take any order from us. Can’t say how long exactly, but way beyond comfort. On order it turned out they didn’t have one of the items we chose (and no reason given, just “not available”).
Drinks were again a bit slow to arrive and the young waiter a little clumsy in handling our bottle of Cava. Food arrived timely and tasted very good. Well cooked, well spiced, all the right flavors in place and pleasantly arranged.
The inner garden also allows smoking, while leaving no dedicated space for people in the building to go out. So every time some group went out to have theirs, we had to sit in the smoke...
Read moreIf mornings usually hit you like a shovel to the face, Kolanko No 6 is your redemption arc. Hidden in Kazimierz like it’s avoiding fame, this place turns the humble breakfast buffet into a full-blown personality reset.
First off, the food: it’s like someone whispered to a farm, “Hey, could you taste better than literally everything else?” And the farm listened. The spreads? Glorious. Cold cuts? Dignified. Salads? Vibrant like they’ve been to therapy. And then—those juices. The fresh tarragon and mint juice punched me in the soul and whispered, “You’re hydrated now.”
Service? Ninja-level. Plates disappear, food magically reappears, and nobody hovers like a needy ex. You just bask in the ambiance, your dog lounging nearby, and suddenly you’re planning what herbs you’d plant if you ran a breakfast empire.
I came hungry, left confused about how this isn’t globally famous. Honestly, if Kolanko No 6 opened in New York or Paris, influencers would ruin it by Tuesday. But here in Krakow? It stays magical....
