Hostels location is close to Old Town and the coded lockers were nice feature. The bathrooms and dorm was clean and tidy. The soap dispensers were empty but other femine product were available which is a thoughtful gesture. The kettle and coffee were appreciated. The lack of a common area was little bothersome second morning when another guest had breakfast in the room early in morning. Luckily ear plugs are available. 😀
Google info has hostel as LGBTQ+ friendly but I was almost denied accomidation. I was asked to confirm my gender before arrival and did message back that my sex is female. When I arrived the receptionist said they couldn't provide me with a bed because it was women only. I calmly and gently stated that I am female. They expressed doubt referencing my legal first name. I explained it is my grandmother's lastname. They said the owner might be mad if I was allowed to stay. I again said my sex is female and I had confirmed this at booking. They agreed to let me stay after that and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. They were trying to do their job to best of their ability and I hope this does not negatively impact them. It was a stressful encounter. With my name and gender non-conforming apperance, some conservative people assume incorrectly I am mtf. Book with caution family 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
TL:DR. It is okay hostel but risky reservation if your beautiful falls outside...
Read morePlease avoid this place! I chose this Hostel because of its high rating. But in fact, this was the worst hostel that I have ever seen in my life! I was very disappointed.
Firstly, the check-in process was awful, all keys were stored in the same box, and if someone wrongfully picked your key, then you were not able to check-in. This is also unsafe. Secondly, I cannot believe that in 2024, the kitchen was so outdated that I needed a match to light the stove.
Thirdly, the staff was rude and asked me multiple times if I had taken their towel. She looked at me as if she were interrogating a criminal. I don’t understand why I’m being held responsible for the towel on someone else’s bed. I already answered "No", why did you keep asking several times? If someone wants to "steal" a towel, it should be done when someone leaves the hostel, not during the stay. The staff should improve her logical skills and professional manners to prevent potential lawsuits.
Finally, I come from Canada, where the hourly minimum wage could purchase 5 towels. Why does your staff focus on lost towels instead of professional manners? If you care so much about your towels, you can request a deposit instead of being rude to...
Read moreWorst hostel ever! When I first came to ask for a shared room, the woman wanted to rent it out for PLN140. When I said it's too expensive, she immediately went down to PLN100. I still wasn't convinced and was actually going to leave.
She came running after me, saying she could also rent it for Booking.com prices, supposedly PLN90. I said I was gonna take it for PLN80. First she said no and then she ran after me again, shouting it's ok.
So, peeps, don't get fooled. This hostel isn't worth more than those 80 Zloty max. Rooms are ok, but there's no common room to sit down, eat comfortably and talk to other guests.
No AC, no television, no washing machine.
Plus, service staff (mainly that administrative lady) seemed rather unfriendly and untrustworthy right from the start!
Regarding the owner's response: The response illustrates the condition of the hostel extremely well. It has nothing to do with this review and is a good example of their...
