Very unfortunate experience. We went to Filo with my partner to celebrate our anniversary and heard many great things about this place. The service was pleasant and fast. The problem came up when we were poured our wine and the waitress mentioned the wine has a taste of honey. I have a horrible allergic reaction to honey and only after mentioning this to the waitress we found out that all of the main course dishes are cooked on honey as they do not use sugar. There is no mention of allergens in the menu and we have not noticed such at the bar/kitchen area. If it wasn’t for the mention of taste of wine then our evening would have ended in the hospital room. The waitress kindly advised that I can have some olives and bread but it is not the type of anniversary dinner we have imagined :( The waitress and kitchen also did not offer an alternative to cook for us without the honey and waitress advised that Greek kitchen is always cooked with honey. I have grown up in Cyrus and know Greek cuisine and never had such thing been an issue. The staff was kind and attentive but I can’t stop thinking of the horrible accident that could have easily happened if it wasn’t for an accidental mention of honey. Such allergies are quite popular and I think any restaurant must take this into account and give a mention in the menu that it is basically fully based on a popular allergen without an option for changing this in any way… We had to leave after having our glasses of wine and change our plans for our anniversary only thankful that the evening did not end in a...

Price quality ratio is off.

Let's get a few things out of the way, I understand they are going for quality over quantity, but the price/quality ratio is not right here and the concept isn't cohesive. A Greek restaurant with tiny portion sizes, casual dining atmosphere with Michelin(ish) quality but inconsistently done.

For example, the restaurant has the atmosphere and service level of a casual dining where you might get a burger or a pizza. Not impolite, but not the professional level you'd expect at this price range, we are starting to enter fine dining territory. Their kitchen is open, tiny and the place is really loud.

The dishes themselves are slightly above average, but inconsistent and way too small for the price they are charging, although bizarrely they are very generous with cabbage and dump half of one on your plate that has been charred on the grill.

The recommendations for ordering were also way off. We ordered 3x "large" plates which were more like appetisers plus a small one and left full(ish) got dessert elsewhere.

Let's be real here, even if they are paying top dollar the ingredients are not high end, it's mostly veg and very little protein.

My advice is to adjust the portion sizes just a little. Maybe 4x tiny slices of Halloumi on the plate instead of 3x. Add just that little bit more food so people don't have to order again and it's in line with your recommendation.

And if not that then you really need to up your game in the service...

I've been to Filo twice so far and each visit was a solid, high-quality dining experience. I might be biased as I love the idea itself - the sole concept of sharing plates is always enough to sway me but this restaurant is genuinely so much more than that, it delivers incredibly hight quality that's worth recommending. The service is lovely, the waiting staff explains everything to newcomers and lets you know about any off-the-menu treats you can try (I highly recommend taking the leap and trying them). The menu itself changes seasonally and you can tell that there are some incredibly talented people behind it, ones that love food and care about what they put out to the public. On both my visits (almost a year apart) I've tried dishes that were all innovative, interesting takes on mediterranean cuisine - delicious and comforting without being pretentious or overpriced. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a cheap dine rec, but you will definitely get your money's worth! The restaurant bakes its own stunning bread, the ingredients are fresh and high quality, and I haven't found a dish that has disappointed me. This place is such a well-thought out, gorgeously executed food experiment that I've found myself waiting for a new menu just to have an excuse to visit them again. As a Krakow foodie and citizen, trust me, they're worth booking. Thank you, Filo, for...

We just left the establishment, and I’m writing this on fresh emotions. My overall impression isn’t great. I would never recommend this place to my friends. The first negative moment was our order. For some reason, the waitress refused to prepare the lamb well-done, even though it was listed on the menu. Moreover, one main dishes from the menu were unavailable on a Sunday evening. There were four of us, and we placed our orders one by one, but the waitress simply forgot about one portion of shrimp. We sat for 30 minutes waiting for our order until we asked about it. Everything was brought out quickly after that, but the squid—of which there was an extremely small portion, maybe 50 grams, priced at 59 zlotys 🥲—took more than 30 minutes to arrive. Although the dishes were small, they were tasty. However, given all of the above, I wouldn’t recommend this place. You’ll leave feeling angry and still hungry! Photo’s How it was supposed to look and how it actually looked 😅

I wanted really to try their food as a greek person living in krakow but it was quite disappointing. We got 3 main dishes and 1 starter plus dessert and to be honest they weren’t enough for two people to feel full. Nothing excited in the dishes and for sure not Greek inspired dishes except the sagagaki shrimps we had(the seafood wasn’t the best quality). The cornflower was tasty but it’s taste was closer to Tai cuisine than greek. My biggest disappointment though was the dessert, that they suggested us to have one and share, but not only the portion was small, it wasn’t even what it was written in the menu. We asked for baklava and they offered kadaifi, a completely different desert. The ice cream it was really tasty, it doesn’t go the same for the kadaifi. Also they way that the dishes were served didn’t really make sense because you weren’t really enjoying the food, just rushing. Interesting experience but for sure not worth it the 200+ that we spend.
