This one is for sure one of the best Hostels I've ever been to. You can tell that the owner really cares about the quality.
The rooms are pristine clean and they are very spacious. We stayed in a 3 bed room with a queen size bed and it was cool. You get plenty of towels and blankets if you need them.
As a hostel you need to be prepared to share a bathroom but this one is very clean and we didn't have any issues sharing or entering.
The breakfast is well, to die for: croissants, bread, fruit, cereals, jam, butter, cheese. Very complete!
The common areas are just lovely, there is a living room with plenty of space to sit and even dedicated spots for laptop and there is also a covered terrace where you can enjoy your coffee while watch the rain. It rains a lot in Guimarães.
The green and forest decoration on the wall and the ceiling are very nice and give a very calm feeling.
Overall 5*, but don't forget it's a hostel and they can get noisy during the night and there's nothing to...
Read moreThis was was a very picturesque village. I felt it was impossible to capture on camera what I was seeing with my eyes. I was instantly in love with it. It is very much worth a two day visit. It is such a clean village with recycling bins everywhere. They even have special depository bins for chewing gum!||We easily traveled there by bus from Braga. I think it cost around 3 euros. The buses run frequently and act almost like city buses picking people up at multiple stops along the way.|We stayed at the Stay hotel which is about a 10 minute walk outside of the old village. It was very inexpensive. I think we paid 45 euro/night. It was very clean and modern. With a really nice bathroom including a tub! After a month hiking the Camino de Santiago the tub was...
Read moreFantastic value hostel very close to the castle and palace in Guimarães. Very friendly staff to give you recommendations for restaurants or tourist advice. We stayed for one night which is enough to see the town. If you want to explore further afield then suggest a longer stay.
We had the studio which was huge, sleeps 6/7 in total with a small kitchen and seating / dining area.
It’s a 15 min walk from the station on cobbles and up and down hills - I would recommend and €4 Uber or taxi.
The breakfast was excellent, very tasty croissants , bread, tea coffee and yoghurt etc.
The double bed was very hard to sleep on. I like a firm mattress but this was very hard.
Good value for money overall...
