We stayed here for three nights at the end of a holiday in the Azores. It served our purposes very well. You need to agree an arrival time in advance as there are no accommodation staff based here but the young man who checked us in was very helpful and friendly. The accommodation is within a 5 - 10 walk from the metro (two stations - although we used Intendente each time) which makes it excellently located for getting to all of the sights. It is towards the top of a steep hill which is capped at the top, so taxi drivers have to reverse back down and of course this means that at the end of each day sightseeing you have to climb the hill to get back home. If you have mobility issues this might not be the best place to stay. Our apartment was on the first floor and the sofa and bed were very comfortable. We had a large lounge/diner, tv, aircon, decent sized kitchen which was well equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven, coffee machine and toaster, decent sized bathroom with large shower and washing machine and a large bedroom. The property is tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. There are plenty of plates, cups etc although some are very high up in wall cupboards. Essentials are provided such as dishwasher tablets, bin bags, cloths, washing up liquid, washing tablets, shower gel etc. We were also given a bottle of water, coffee pods and a range of teabags - although sadly no custard tarts which are stated on their website. You have to pay a nightly tourist tax of E2 per person which is imposed by the authorities. There is a small supermarket nearby which was really handy. Check out is meant to be at 11.00 but they kindly agreed a late check out of noon which suited us very well. You can contact them via WhatsApp which was really handy. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Lisbon and are happy to recommend this property. As an aside, we took a taxi from the airport to this property and were thoroughly ripped off (our own fault for not researching in advance). It was one of the black/green roofed taxis and we agreed a price before accepting it. On arrival at the property he said that he had got the price wrong and charged us more, showing us a list of locations etc. At the end of our stay we booked a taxi via the taxi co-op - phoning rather than using an app and our journey was a third of the price back! Please make sure that a taxi from the airport uses the meter to avoid this...
Read moreWe arrived to a warm welcome from the housekeeper, though our flight was delayed and we were two hours late. We were pleased to see the apartment was very clean and equipped with the basics - a bottle of water, tea & coffee, toilet paper, kitchen equipment... We went to the Pingo Doce supermarket 5 mins walk away (bottom of street, twin right, walk up the hill) to stock up. The walk into the centre of town is around 15 mins downhill, but then 15 mins uphill on return (we developed thighs of steel!). Take good shoes - the pavement tiles are slippery, especially in the rain. We had the ground floor apartment, which was a little dark and damp smelling. But ok with the lights on and open windows. It was also a little noisy at times - the sound proofing isn't great and we could hear everything from neighbouring apartments including frequent sounds of male 'pleasure' over the weekend which wasn't very pleasant for us,and a party on Saturday night. As we were on the ground floor there was also street noise from people coming and going in the evening. Overall, a comfortable stay in a residential neighborhood though and we would recommend Lis apartments to those who don't like being too central and prefer being in a residential neighbourhood with good...
Read moreVery nice Lisbon apartment. Full one bedroom with king sized bed with a full pull out couch in living room. Nicely re-done unit. Kitchen and bathroom were very functional. Airconditioning in bedroom. Unit was large and comfortable for 3 people. Only issues are related to location. Unit is a 100 yard walk up a somewhat steep hill. It’s also a 12-15 min walk into heart of city with lots of hills bit that is most of Lisbon. Ubers are inexpensive all over town but meeting point is at the bottom of the hill. There are restaurants in close proximity including Sacco which is right around the corner and should be on your list of places to dine if you are staying in this neighborhood. This place was good value and would recommend if you’re looking for local neighborhood just outside of central...
