I’m writing this review to share our experience at this hotel during our recent stay in Lisbon. As my travel partner mentioned in his review, we encountered a major issue with the in-room safe not functioning properly. Unfortunately, this resulted in our passports and wallets being locked inside overnight, which caused us to miss our scheduled flight. We were forced to purchase last-minute replacement tickets in order to make it to our next destination on time as we had reservations that same day.
At the time, your staff assured us that the hotel would reimburse the full cost of our alternative flight arrangements. However, that commitment was not honored. While you did reimburse the cost of the flight tickets, you refused to cover the checked luggage fees (€77+ each) that we incurred. Because the last-minute airline we had to book with didn’t allow carry-ons, checking our bags was not optional. Your reasoning — that checked bags constituted an “upgrade” — was not only inaccurate but dismissive of a basic travel necessity. No reasonable guest would consider bringing their luggage an upgrade.
I followed up with two emails on June 10th and 11th, but have yet to receive any response. This silence is especially disappointing considering our conversation had initially seemed productive and understanding. The fact that you later decided, without informing us, to only partially cover the cost is unacceptable. Communication and accountability matter, especially in the hospitality industry.
I don’t usually write public reviews, but I feel compelled to do so in this case. We were understanding, patient, and reasonable throughout this process — I fully recognize that sometimes things go wrong. But how you choose to handle those moments speaks volumes. Unfortunately, your handling of this situation showed a clear lack of care and consideration, and future guests deserve to be aware of that.
I expect to hear a...

Where to begin!! First the lady that checks us in had a very bad attitude and was very rude towards us because our card was declined when we wanted to pay, they say that they accept AMEX but they don’t even know what Amex is! It took them two days to find out that they actually don’t have the contract with Amex. Well no problem we had other cards with us which we end up paying with. Rooms on first floor stinks of grilled fish and chicken from take away downstairs, from 5 pm until next morning there were smoke in our room and on the corridor, when complained to the front desk she said she will pass the message to the managers and will find a solution but she never PASSED ON THE MESSAGE! there was electricity cut for three nights in a row in our room only ! which they had no solution for either, they actually told us that there were no other rooms available, ( we carried medical stuff with us and needed the fridge 24/7 but this wasn’t the case) as soon as I contacted Booking.com and asked for help from their side, they gave us a room to stay for one night only!! However they contacted us the next morning while we were away (to finally enjoy a sunny day at the beach )and asked us to come back and pack our stuff from the room we stayed last night because they need it for another guest! (UNBELIEVABLY DISGUSTING) After all this, we end up meeting the manager in the corridor (no official call/meeting was arranged from their side) and explained what we went through in the past 9 days, We were shocked by his lack of professionalism and bad attitude towards us and all we got from him was 12 times the word Sorry then seeing him walk away from us. The service in this...
Read morePrior to our arrival we had been told that the breakfast room was being remodelled but there would be no noise or disruption and breakfast would be brought to our room.|As we pulled up outside in the taxi, we couldn’t believe the area and the exterior of the hotel. There was graffiti around the front door, the whole area was run down with derelict buildings on both sides of the road. When we arrived it turned out that the whole place was being refurbished! There was uneven sheets of chipboard on the floor, holes in the wall, wires hanging out of the ceiling by the lift. The room itself was reasonably clean, but the bathroom had peeling taps and mould around the shower cubicle. Also the toilet was very close to the bed so not ideal ! There were no drawers for our clothes and just a hanging rail with 5 coat hangers ! We went to find a receptionist and told her we felt we had been mislead and mis sold as it was clearly more than just the breakfast room that was under refurbishment! She was extremely rude and dismissive, we’d already paid so what could we do !|Another thing we noticed was that there were no fire precautions, no fire extinguishers etc, no smoke alarms and no fire evacuation plan anywhere and considering the hotel was between two kebab shops this could have dire consequences!|No way was this a 4 star hotel ! It didn’t even comply with any health and safety or fire regulations!|The area was run down with lots of homeless people sleeping in door ways and groups of young immigrant men hanging around. We are also offered drugs on numerous occasions!|If you’re considering staying...
