My partner and I are long distance so we need to find somewhere cheap but nice to stay whenever we visit. This hotel is definitely budget but the inside is very modern and clean. The lounge and patio are is clean and quiet and comfy.
The rooms are basic, but nice and comfortably. One bed, desk and TV and in the bathroom there is a toilet, sink and shower. It's really basic but it's comfortable and the AC works really well.
The vending machine in the lobby has a great selection of snacks and drinks and they are really reasonably priced too. We like staying at this hotel a lot. It's private and you will not be bothered at all. They also don't mind if you bring in outside food to eat in your room (which some other hotels in the area are funny about). They gave us cutlery so we could! :)
I chose to write this review because my partner and I are really picky about hotels even though we look for budget hotels and although this hotel is basic, it's nice, clean, private and comfortable and the food in the vending machines is really good.
As for the area: it's very urban and not the best, it's really close to the airport (5 mins uber), it's about a 10-15 walk to the river and the cable cars and the aquarium. Very close to the subway as well. Not much immediately around the hotel but...
Read morePlain vanilla budget airport hotel, approx 15-20 min away from the airport. Taxi is cheaper than Uber. Nothing around the hotel. No restaurant around. Good luck finding some food if you arrive late. Check-in was easy. The guest room corridor is spartan, all wood decor looks more like a long sauna. There is no room key; a passcode written on a card that you have to enter on a keypad outside the door - very inconvenient. Bedroom is functional, utilitarian. Window view is an embankment wall. The bathroom is small where it is difficult to pull towel off the rectangular section towel rail. There is no soap in the shower, just shampoo. The bed comforter is too thick and pillows too thin. AC did not work properly; it switched off often. With the thick comforter, poor a/c it was too warm in bed. Could not sleep properly and woke up with a headache. The breakfast area is very nicely furnished; there is even an outside eating area, very pretty. There are nice couches to relax. The breakfast was ok. There was a machine making mini-pancakes. Cereal, bread, croissants, pastries, are all available etc but no scrambled eggs or any egg dish. A complicated coffee/tea machine that adds too much milk to your coffee or tea. Generally an ok, clean hotel to sleep a night before...
Read moreDecent budget style hotel. Unlike advertised otherwise by the hotel chain's own umbrella group, the MOOV does have a 24/7 front desk, and therefore accepts late (after midnight) check-ins. Rooms are adequate for short stays (it's only a short taxi or metro ride to/from the airport). Standard rooms don't have microwave ovens or coolers/fridges. However, the front desk staff is friendly and helpful, and happy to provide ice to cool down a beverage, reserve a taxi, or arrange for a wake-up call. Street parking is free. The hotel is an easy 3 minutes by foot to/from the nearest metro station, and 4-5 minutes from the larger Oriente metro/bus/train station with its own shopping mall, the Lisbon Aquarium, and lots of restaurants in the Park of the Nations behind it. The metro takes you downtown in...
