My experience going to Xiao Long Kan for the first time was awesome! Had high expectations due to the reputation of this chain in China among my chinese friends and it did NOT dissapoint.
Booked a table for 19:00 PM (through a chinese platform) and did not have to wait at all. Had our table saved for us and everything went smoothly. Although it just opened, it was completely full and I have a feeling booking a table could be harder than my personal experience (especially if you are portuguese since I believe their main booking method is on chinese apps)
The products are fresh, the meat tastes good, wide variety of options, grape juice is very flavorful, free pineapple and melon, good sauce ingredients, was REALLY happy with the whole dining experience.
Loved the aesthetic of the restaurant and was great for Instagram pictures, which in these current times, it can be a deal breaker for most young audiences.
Regarding prices, it was around 35 - 40 euros each (a group of 5) but we were all full! For a special day, I think it's totally worth it.
Instantly became my favorite hot pot place in Lisbon and plan to visit more and more often.
Did a video review on the restaurant on my Instagram in case you want to get a visual review: @henamwood...
Read moreIf you are not Chinese , don’t come here !!! I think they only serve only Chinese customers, what a shame !!! They don’t speak Portuguese which is ok , English is fine but the system and the customer service were poor and I have to say it’s terrible compared with their place in Paris , been there before . I was excited to try it in Portugal but it was an disaster to be honest. They don’t have a table for you, they don’t want to serve you , I booked the table ( it’s a private number ) sent the message but no one confirms ( maybe they don’t care Bc I sent the text in English ). If you dont want to serve or don’t want people to book a table don’t put the number there for the decoration purpose. Hotpot is so so can’t compare with hadilao ( in China) or the famous Wulao ( taiwan ) . If you want to try hotpot , go to other places like Chong qing even the decoration is not really nice but at least you can book a table , have hotpot to enjoy and pls don’t waste your time here . It’s a shame for them with this poor management, I don’t care about the quality of food anymore, they are just bad with their service, their restaurant in Paris is so...
Read moreFINALLY SOME REAL HOTPOT IN LISBON!
I have been waiting with bated breath for Lisbon to catch up to the rest of Europe's major capitals and expand the Chinese food scene here, so I was very hype to check out some hotpot on my last visit.
This place is HUGE, very clean, very modern, and so many food options. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. A lot of attention has gone into creating it.
Three of us ate so much! Broth options were good, spicy level is adjustable, and fairly priced considering how difficult it can be to source some of these ingredients here. Everything was very, very fresh.
Excellent experience. I'm just sad it wasn't busy at all. I hope more of Lisbon discovers it so they stay around for a long time. I'm tired of the best Chinese food places closing because people don't appreciate them.
Oh, and they make very nice and refreshing...
