We stayed at the Neya Hotel for three days. When we arrived a few hours earlier than planned it was no problem and we got another room for a few hours as our room wasn't ready yet which was really nice so we could rest for a few hours after the flight until our room was ready. When we arrived, the lady at reception told us that there was no baby crib there yet but there would be later in our real room, the first temporary room was also very quiet from the location at the back to the courtyard, we had specially requested a quiet room. Then we were allowed into our actual room and so far everything was fine, the only question is why there are not even two sockets by the bed, there is only one for the lamp but no second one to charge your cell phone, so you had to unplug the lamp to charge your cell phone but then there was no more light by the bed, simply impractical.
Why do you advertise a minibar in the room if it is not filled, it was simply empty and the water was just a glass bottle of tap water, when you read minibar you look forward to drinks and snacks (which you pay for of course) but there was nothing.
But the worst thing was the room was unbearably hot in the evening when we were in bed and that in early February! The air conditioning kept jumping from 16 to 20 and it was getting warmer and warmer in the room our son kept waking up almost every hour and was screaming and screaming because it was simply far too warm (he sleeps through the night at home). Then all we could do was open the window but that meant noise from the annoying people on the balcony opposite who talk and smoke loudly into the night and down on the street loud cars, police, fire department etc. But without the window open it was unbearable so we even had to sleep with ear muffs. We pointed out the next day and a total of 3 times (!) that the air conditioning was not working and were not taken seriously and we were told that the card had to be in there too, we realized that we even had two cards but no matter what we did they didn't work! Why can't an employee come up for 5 minutes with such problems and explain how it works? We were assured several times that a technician would take care of it and what happened? Nothing at all! So Lisbon was nice but we were incredibly exhausted and tired because of the bad nights and that should not be in a hotel, because the air conditioning did not work we had to open the window which meant noise so our son could not sleep either from heat or noise, how do people sleep in this hotel in summer when it is really hot?
Why didn't we have a baby crib in our actual room even though we were told we would get one? Why were we not taken seriously and the air conditioning fixed or offered another new room? Why was the first room quiet facing the courtyard and our actual room directly facing the street and noisy although we had booked a quiet room?
These points are simply not acceptable and are in no price-performance ratio! You look forward to such a trip for a long time and then have such a negative taste because of the hotel, not pleasant. They adorn themselves with environmentally friendly and eco and sustainable but first get the air conditioning under control and take the concerns of your guests seriously!
A good Compensation for these terrible nights in a Refund would be appropriate.
Very sad because the location, the rooms and beds and the hotel itself are ok, breakfast was not outstanding but ok.
Due to this negative experience, we unfortunately cannot recommend it (especially not with a child), too bad the first impression was very very good, then unfortunately...

This is a hotel that is a bit out of the central Lisbon tourist area. I wouldn't say it's super close to many restaurants or cafes. A minimum 30 minute walk to get near the central Lisbon tourist area with many shopping, restaurants, and bars.
Upon entering the room it's definitely a a little dark. I have every light on in the room and it is definitely dark. The dark purple (I really dislike purple) does not help or the dark furniture. The room is one of the smaller size overall that I've seen. Very little walking room. TV is older and a bit small.
I was given a 2nd floor room at the end of the hall which is technically the first floor of rooms. My room is facing the main street but no view at all. The insulation from the windows is not very good as I can hear motorcycles and honking very clearly at various times of the day. If booking I would request a higher floor to try to insulate some of the noise.
The room is a double twin bed. There are four pillows on each bed but two of them are merely decorative. Each side has a medium and a large pillow for your head. The beds are the hardness level of most hotels. The room is fully carpeted except for in the bathroom that has tile.
Room does come with a back seat massager that is a bit busted in the leather area for my room. The room is rather small in addition to being dark and includes a desk with the stool and a small chair. The window does open and powers off the air if you open.
There is a clean hotel kettle and comes with two cups and two mugs. There are two flavors of tea and two instant coffees (no decaf) along with non-dairy liquid creams, sugars and a couple stirs.
The bathroom door is a sliding frosted slider. Shower has a swinging glass door to keep water off the floor. You must open to get into the tub as the sink takes up a good amoint of entry space. Shower had only single pump body/shampoo. A non-movable overhead shower that is in a position that required you to stand with the drain between your feet - making 60% of the tub space unusable. The moveable shower spray was good but so low it required you to hold it the whole time to use. If using the tub the body soap was located so high you would have to stand up any time you wanted to get a pump of soap.
Does include two towels which are across the room from the toilet - which is an absolute bonus in my book. Included is a shower cap and a vanity set. The swing glass door on the shower tub is convenient considering that the sink vanity covers a good portion of the tub and you must use the shower door in order to access. The sink has pump liquid soap and body lotion along with a blow dryer and makeup mirror. I did spot a bit of black moldy area behind the sink.
The breakfast area is too small for the capacity of the hotel. The selection of food is pretty minimal compared to what I've seen at most other hotels with a four-star rating.
I will say this hotel is older than their Porto sister and not as updated or with the hotel bar and restaurant upstairs and downstairs. The spa facilities were...
Read moreI recently stayed at NEYA Lisbon hotel and, while it has its ups and downs, I’d say it’s more on the mediocre side overall.||Pros:||Location: The hotel’s location is definitely one of its strongest points. It's in a good area with easy access to shops and restaurants, which made getting around really convenient.||Breakfast: The breakfast was fine, nothing extraordinary, but it did the job. A decent spread of options, repetitive though. ||Cons:||Iron and Ironing Board: One of the most frustrating aspects of my stay was the lack of an iron and ironing board in the room. Upon check-in, I requested to have an iron and ironing board to be put in my room. It was a business trip so I needed to have my clothes ironed every day. I didn't get it in the morning and was calling the reception desk since 6am, asking to have it delivered. The staff claimed that 'they only had 6 irons in the hotel and they were all given out'. In the end, I waited close to 30 hours, to have it delivered. On the first day I asked housekeeping staff to iron my dress. For a hotel that claims to offer the basics, this is a huge oversight. It might seem like a small thing, but it really affected my experience.||Staff: The staff varied a lot in terms of their attitude. Some were super friendly and accommodating, especially the young gentlemen on the day shift at the reception but others were snappy and seemed uninterested in helping. It was a bit inconsistent, and I never knew what I was going to get when I approached the desk.||Cleanliness: The room itself was generally clean, but the carpets were a letdown. They weren't clean and did not look hygienic at all. ||Overall:|While this hotel is decent in terms of location and service quality can be hit or miss, I wouldn’t say it’s a place I’d rush to revisit unless it was for convenience. It’s a shame because with a few improvements—like a consistent staff attitude, better cleanliness, and basic amenities like an iron in the room—it could be so...
