A Floresta da Estefânia — Restaurant in Lisbon

We came here on our first night in Lisbon after being recommended this restaurant by locals. We had high expectations and ordered the cod with potato. The food smelled bad, and it did not seem to be fresh. The staff was not friendly and constantly threw glances at us, because we were unable to eat the whole dish. The portions were huge. The fish was full of bones which made it impossible to eat without being afraid of it getting stuck in the throat.

I will never visit this restaurant again, and I would not recommend it either. You get cheese, olives and chorizo when you take a seat and they charge you for it without even asking if...

Everything you'd expect from a good tasca. Freshly prepared food at the right price. A downside is, that it is popular because it's good, so don't expect a quiet meal if you go on a Friday night. It's one of the few traditional tascas I know that offers a vegetarian option - vegetarian burger patty (seems homemade), without burger bun, served with the usual choice is sides chips/rice/salad/vegetables ask to select what you want. I chose this place because it had good ratings and was at a distance of 10 mins walk from my hotel. When I entered the place I was the only girl, the restaurant owners welcomed me with a smile and helped me find a spot. Not all who served spoke English but they were really kind to have the owner ask me what I wanted. I ordered grilled sea bass and it was really tasty.
