Pensão Leão de Ouro — Hotel in Matosinhos

I had a room with two beds and private bathroom on the top floor. The shower was the smallest shower i have ever seen in my life. ||I am average in terms of body size but i had to go in sideways. Once inside i couldn’t bend down or wash my hair (my Arms would hit the sides). Anyone slightly above average would not be able toise the shower.||The toilet was broken and smelled like sewage so i complained and they just came in, mopped the floor with a dirty rag and it still stank. And the place was dirty. ||When i complained again, they just opened the window (landing right on a rooftop where neighbours were hand drying their clothes... so they could all just walk inside my room if i left the window opened. In fact they couldn’t at anytime cause that’s window did not lock).||The walls are paper-thin. I could hear the girl in the room before BREATHING. I am not even exagerating.||I expected the place to be « basic » but the toilet issue, shower too small to function and smell of sewage just made it unbearable. ||I would NOT...

Reservation with booking.com was a success (we have payed) but at the arrival we are not registered. We have to pay twice !|The host is an old lady who doesn't speak english or french. She doesn't answer by the intercom. So it is difficult to enter!|It is another guest who helps us and translates !|The old lady didn't understand our issue (maybe she is smart? This is a tourist trap?)|There is no place to park the car.|Rooms are at the third level without elevator.|Room seems to be new but not the bathroom. There are lot of leaks ! The place has been renovated and was done well. The person managing it didn't know how to put the heat on in the room. She did offer blankets and finally a portable heater. She was a nice women BUT! MY STAY was not one that I would endure again. They have hall way and stair lights that go off way before you go down the stairs so your hanging on the railing. The stairs are made of marble and are slippery not to mention deep, so it feels unsafe. She was really nice but that rely didn't make up for the...
