The food was largely good. The prawns with garlic starter (which wasn't on the menu yet, but we orderednit as we saw.somw other diners having it) was really tasty and a good portion size to share as a starter. We had the sardine main which was nice, but salty in parts...must be the sea salt that is used to cooknit, and the squid, which looked nice, but didn't taste it myself, as I do not like the look of the tentacles. The best part of the main though was the roast potatoes that come with it, they were perfectly cooked and seasoned just right to give it a nice subtly seasoned fluffy roast potato tastes. The sardines portion of 6 is easily sharable between 2 people especially with the potatoes and if you have had a starter. You also get complimentary bread and olives at the start. Also a meal for 2 adults, starter and main and a bottle of wine came to ~€45, which seems very reasonable to me as the food is good quality. We had the Mateus Rose for wine which was expected. It gets a four start because the service was pretty slow and unattentive (could have been because it was prak lunch time hours). We waited ages to get a menu after we were seated, we finished our starter and had to remind another waiter what our drink order ws before we got our Rose thankfully before pur main came. Didn't bother us too much as we were not in a hurry, but would have been really annoying otherwise.

amazing service and food! we got a recommendation from our amazing boat tour guide pablo. the fish was AMAZING and was very clearly extremely fresh you could tell they got it fresh (as our boat driver also confirmed), the staff helped cut and serve the sea bass to avoid bones and skin which was so helpful! the staff at the restaurant were very kind and even though they didn’t speak the best english they were still helpful! can’t expect people in a foreign country to speak your language so it’s very appreciated when they try to accommodate you anyways, we were beyond happy and full when leaving. would recommend although we did drop a good amount of money on dinner, was so worth it! also as a person who doesn’t like fish they had other options!

The quality to price ratio surprised me, in a very positive way. It's not like this place is very cheap, but rather the quality of food, service and interior call for higher prices. The are two sections of main dishes: more elaborated (pricier, around 20€) and more simple (cheaper, 10€ in average). There are also options for seafood, sold by weight. Some cheaper options may not include vegetables as a side dish, only potatoes. I really enjoyed how elegantly the dishes were served and everything was delicious. They served us quickly, although the restaurant was crowded at the time and the staff was very polite overall. Loved the interior of the place, it small, but elegantly decorated that makes you want to stay there for longer.

We are from the USA visiting Portugal for the first time and didn’t check the review before we went there. We showed a picture from the website to ask what it was and it was the mixed seafood for two prices at 85 euros. The owner took the menu away and started serving food with salad and calamari which we thought it was included in the seafood tray we ordered because we didn’t order any of those. Then we asked for wine menu and the server brought a bottle and opened it. When I asked for the price the server showed it in the wine list priced 54 euros. We never planned to spend that much money on the wine but they just served without asking. At the end, for my husband and I had to pay for every single item total 176 euros. The owner took a picture with us and he posted on instagram. As a shellfish lover I liked the food and we liked the wine but it was very unpleasant experience that made us feel that we are totally ripped off. I hope the owner stop this behavior as I see many one star reviews share the same...

The atmosphere was good here but their English wasn't great and it was a bit chaotic when we arrived. The table was excellently set with a salad, some kind of mussel dish and a bread basket which we were afraid to touch as we would assume anything we touch we would be charged for. The amount of food and the portions are monstrous. They have 1/2 portion sizes which I would go for if you are not sharing otherwise order one dish and share it.

The food unfortunately was not great in my option absolutely covered in oil and butter which was over welling and the cod I had was quite tough. Maybe the restaurant wasn't to our liking and more suited to the local people as the waiters seemed to know a lots of the custumers hugging and shaking hands as they left.

Also it was a Sunday when we ate there so maybe it was extra busy with the locals bringing their families...
