Guest house Bella Italia — Hotel in Ponta Delgada

I Must confess I am not that demanding but this experience wasn’t fun at all.. maybe our mistake for booking this accommodation from the very beginning but I didn’t expect this service.

First of all, we arrived around 11:30pm and we had to for 25 mins until someone opens after multiple calls (in internet it’s stated that there is a reception open until 12:00 but there isn’t even a reception).

The room was genuinely the simplest they could offer. Bed sheets very not even fitting. A light lamp was next to the bed but there was not plug (completely unnecessary). The most insane though was the bathroom which was basically outside the room and I suppose was shared although we had keys for it. It was basically like a public sharing bathroom. Toiled completely dirty, toilet bin full of papers, floor and sink full of dirt and hairs, a wet dirty towel on the floor. Absolutely messy and disgusting experience.

In conclusion, I do know that the room was only 22€ per night and so I had already very low expectations and I didn’t mind, but providing AT LEAST a clean and hygienic accommodation is basically something obvious in the hospitality industry. This accommodation didn’t even provide the most basic and essential service.

I totally disagree with the negative reviews.

The rooms are very correct for the price and Raja, the owner, is very friendly and even cordial.

Disgruntled guests expect hotel service, whereas here they are rooms for rent.

There's a common kitchen or the restaurant, for meals. I arrived by plane one hour after closing time, but announced the time of my arrival, then Raja agreed to make me a meal and we sympathized, as well as with regular customers.

For less than 15€ per night, I dare you to find as well, with possibility to eat after the usual closing of the restaurant!

The sanitary facilities salubrity depends on the respect of the other customers for others, especially of those who believe they are in hotel and who believe that it'll be clean up after their passage ...

When you know what it's about: bedroom with outside kitchen and shower rooms, without forgetting a small and very cosy living room, to watch TV with other residents (there's also one in each room), you will appreciate this picturesque place as much as you like.

The location is also very good, the whole city is within walking distance.

I thought I would spend only one night there, before going to the campsite, given my late arrival time, but I decided to stay there...

In short: dont book this! This place is shoddy, filthy, and unfriendly, even hostile.

1. The hotel staff tried to deny access to the complaint book. By doing so, they are breaking the law. Very dishonest and untrustworthy people there.

2. The room was in extremely bad condition. There is a major moisture damage, and it smells like rotten and mold. Cleaning is not good, either. All kinds of filth everywhere, and cockroaches, too.

3. At the moment of booking, the hotel confirmed and accepted our early arrival. But when we got there, our room wasn't ready. They also lied that supposedly they haven't seen any request of...
