O PataNisca — Restaurant in Ponta Delgada

Definitely the worst restaurant experience in years. The beef steak was so poor we couldn't even chew it and had to spit it out. Therefore, we returned the steak and ordered grilled pork, which turned out to be extremely fatty & greacy, but ok if you're very hungry. In the end, when we asked for the bill, the beef steak was included in it. I politely made a remark that it must be a mistake, upon which the waitress started to aggressively convince me that the beef steak was actually very good and was approved by the chef. The fact that I couldn't physically eat it, did not impress her much. After several rounds of pretty rude arguing from her side and her running with the plate of cold steak (which they funnily didn't throw away, but rather showed me again and again) between our table and the chef, she eventually agreed to exclude it from the bill, while not even trying to hide how annoyed she was with us. It would have been so much better if the restaurant had just admitted the mistake, but unfortunately they decided to ruin the evening. That's a shame.

We were looking for a local restaurant and here we are. Not overpriced food with many choices. Happy to eat fresh fish and another unique tastes! The menu offers everything what you would look for and also various alcohol selection. Waiting time was okay, even if the restaurant was full on Sunday noon. The staff was friendly and very professional - dealing great with many guests inside. My partner really enjoyed veal steak - was exactly as he expected!

After a great dinner we decided for a desert and pineapple mouse was delicious too. Very natural and fresh. Visit this place if you would like to try great tastes from Azores :) I highly recommend!

We were twice in this restaurant. First visit was great: Service, food, timing. Second visit was a disaster: the waitress didn’t even say hello, she didn’t ask how we want the steak cooked, and what side dishes we wish (you can choose 2 side dishes from the list, according to menu).
