Room 22 has balcony. Clean and comfortable little rooms with kind staff. Because it is in the town and the buildings are close to each other and windows are open, so it is not so discrete.

Posizione centralissima, parcheggio nelle vicinanze solo a pagamento.

For our one-week vacation in July 2025, we booked this hotel via Booking.com on December 15, 2024, and paid €1,930.60 upfront at the time of booking. Everything was properly arranged and confirmed. The only amount left to pay on-site was the €30 tourist tax.

However, upon arrival, the trouble began. The receptionist suddenly claimed that we hadn’t paid and demanded full payment again. We showed him the official proof of payment, but he insisted that no payment had been received and refused to check us in unless we paid a second time.

To resolve the issue, I personally emailed the payment confirmation to the hotel’s official email address. This was ignored as well. He dismissed it as “insufficient proof” and flat-out refused to contact Booking.com for clarification. Instead, he continued pressuring us to pay again—offering no explanation, no collaboration, just accusations.

The receptionist told us that the day before our arrival, the hotel had already attempted to charge the full amount of €1,930.60 to my prepaid MasterCard. Fortunately, I only load funds onto that card when necessary, so the transaction failed. Even after being shown the official proof of payment, he still made multiple attempts to charge my card again. And still, no effort whatsoever to contact Booking.com or resolve the matter professionally.

Rather than addressing the situation with any sense of responsibility, the receptionist chose to treat us as if we were trying to avoid payment — even though we had paid in full and followed all the correct procedures.

In the end, we had to reach out to Booking.com ourselves. Only after they contacted the hotel directly did the receptionist finally offer an apology. But by then, the damage had been done, and his apology felt forced and insincere. If Booking.com hadn’t stepped in, we would have been denied access to our rooms entirely.

The receptionist's rude and dismissive attitude was absolutely disgraceful. There was no willingness to assist, no empathy, and certainly no professionalism.

If I ever return to Ponta Delgada, I will absolutely not be staying at this hotel again. This was a terrible experience that no traveler deserves.

If you value your peace of mind and expect basic professionalism and respect, avoid this hotel at all costs. This experience was not only disappointing—it was completely unacceptable. I strongly urge travelers to book elsewhere and spare themselves the unnecessary stress and...

We only stayed here one night during a brief stopover between flights, and our two rooms were fully adequate. The rooms (and bathrooms) were very clean. There is of course no air conditioning (which is in general an extreme rarity on the Azores), but they at least provide a fan in every room (not the case everywhere on the Azores!).||||Breakfast was also very nice, and they even prepared it for us early as we had an early morning flight to catch. They also arranged to have a taxi waiting for us exactly at the time we asked, to take us to the airport. The taxi also cost less (€12) than the one we got from the airport to the hotel (€15).||||The hotel is very well situated, right in downtown Ponta Delgada (everything is within walking distance), and only about a 10-min drive from the airport.||||One sticking point is that there is no elevator. Normally I don’t mind walking up stairs at all, but going up two (very high!) flights with two (very heavy!) suitcases is something I would have preferred to avoid...||||I was also a little surprised that the clerk who greeted us at reception upon our arrival literally did not speak a single word of English. We came across this most everywhere in the Azores, but you would think that those working at reception at a hotel which hosts many international guests would have at least the most basic command of some language other than...
