This has to be one of my favorite brunch spots in Portugal and it's mostly because of the creative menu and outstanding combination of flavours !!
THE PLACE: They have a very cute and cozy garden/terrace at the back where we decided to sit. Otherwise the place was packed, as it was the only café open in that area on Sunday.
WHAT WE ORDERED: • Syrniki with lemon ganache, salted caramel and almond crumble - BEST syrniki I ate so far !! It went beautifully with the lemon flavor and salted caramel added on some sweetness • Crepes with caramelized orange sauce, cream cheese and peaches - very refreshing, perfect for summer; once again a nice contrast between sourness, sweetness and cream cheese to neutralize • Salted caramel latte - I liked this one even more than their classic cappuccino (which was delicious), even though I don't like sugary drinks - this had a hint of the caramel flavour, but wasn't excessively sweet
Overall, solid 10/10. Will be happy to...
Read moreIncredibly rude staff. I honestly couldn't believe it. Completely snobby and uninterested in providing any service whatsoever and literally turned his nose up at us when we asked if we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated (in Portuguese) because it was pretty busy and some specialty cafes that do brunch don't like you just sitting. No response to us! He left us standing there like idiots, despite me trying a second time to ask in English. And they all just went about their lives, not even doing anything important. One guy got on his phone right in front of us and pretended we didn't exist. The others just talked to each other. It was a real shame because I wanted to have some varenyky.
Appalling. Never have I had such insulting service in Portugal. This was not a mistake or one employee having a bad day. This was on purpose, and it was all of them.
We went a few doors down to Hakko and had a lovely time...
Read moreWe got a table without reservation for a brunch during a weekend. Our order was raked quite fast, shower then the waiting time… our food arrived before the coffee which we orders or even before the cutlery on the table. Once we asked about the coffee waiter said that bar is busy but we were sitting there for a good half hour waiting. Quite soon am after asking she brought my friends coffee and to me she said that “I don’t know if someone told you but cold brew (which I ordered) they do not have anymore” obviously nobody told me that… I ordered Americano, the same as my friend coffee, however mine arrived half weaker that hers, it was looking as dirty water… food was ok, but overpriced. The only thing what I was pleased by it was a pistachio cake which was almost as good as from my all times favourite place. It’s an influencers and internet nomad coffee. I definitely not...
