Celia Cafe — Restaurant in Porto

I ordered an Orange juice, coffee, a big Sandwich and 2 pastries to go. Everything was served right away except my Sandwich. I've waited 1 hour (!) for my Sandwich and in that hour I asked the waiter 3 times very nicely if my order was ready. Every single time he promised it will be ready in a moment. I could see his colleague who prepared the food behind the bar. So I watched that guy if he prepared my Sandwich and was patiently waiting for ONE HOUR straight. The final time before I got up from the table I even literally said to the waiter that I'm hungry and I didn't have any breakfast yet. He, again, promised me the same sh!t. After that I waited for another 10 minutes until I stood up and paid for my food. The waiter who served me didn't even look at me and even dared to smirk like my situation was funny or something. Even customers who came after me were served with their ordered food before me! I am really upset and this isn't the first time that I was discriminated just bc I'm not Portuguese or not white! I've wasted my time and money for these rude waiters. Never again I'll go...

I had a really upsetting experience at this establishment today. While all the positive reviews seem to be from white customers, my interaction was starkly different. The attendant was incredibly rude and completely ignored me. It was disheartening to feel this kind of treatment as a person of color, especially when other white customers were treated with courtesy.

Unfortunately, I realized I had left an item behind and returned to look for it. The attendant's frustration or even hostility towards me was palpable when he saw me again. When I inquired about my lost item, he dismissively said, "Yeah, I've seen it. But I threw it away. It's for the trash," before grabbing the keys, shutting the door in my face, and locking it.

While I understand it was closing time and he may have been eager to leave, his response lacked basic human decency. I hope he will address this behavior and considers how he treats all customers, regardless of...

such a bad experience… but i guess it is to be expected when the waiter greets you with a hostile tone and a « what do you want? ». the terrace on the street seems quite popular, but the atmosphere inside is cold and stressful - mainly from the waiter barking orders and clashing down the cups and plates in exasperation. from what i’ve tasted, both the food and the coffee are subpar. do yourself a favor and go...
