Great sized apartment: good sized kitchen area, and seating area, and small balcony - but really only for standing and admiring the view.|Aircon worked perfectly, which was essential as it was about 35 degrees!|In a really good location: we arrived by Metro from the airport and it was an easy walk from Bolhao. It was also close to Sao Bento but there is a lot of construction work going on there right now, so actually it was easier to access from Bolhao Metro (with cases). We used Uber for the return trip to the airport which was easy and worked smoothly.|Email them in advance to advise your arrival time, as reception isn't always manned - this needs to be made more clear|However, the finish in the apartment is not great: wall hairdryer didn't work (a separate one provided), bathroom floor grouting missing, kitchen water tap possibly plumbed wrong way round but impossible to get cold water from it (hot water in kitchen and shower was fine). |The most serious issue is the creaky floors - ours was creaky, and luckily we stayed Mon- Fri but when a guest arrived on Friday in the room above us it was terrible - woken up by them at 3am when they came back from a night out.... Really glad we didn't have to put up with that all week.... this would put me off booking here / recommending this apartment, which is a shame, as everything else was good. They really need to try to do something to improve this.|No breakfast currently offered as standard (I was aware of this when booking, and there is a supermarket round the corner, or just go out for coffee and a pastel de nata!) but see that some of the older photos show the "breakfast room"...not sure if you can request this as an extra, but as the apartment has a fridge, hob, kettle and coffee maker, there really isn't...
Read moreWe travelled here for a long weekend from the UK. We had a studio apartment on the 3rd floor.||Positives|• The apartment was perfect for us and what we wanted/needed. The space and decor is edgy.|• Central location in old town Porto - very close to everything walking wise|• Our apartment was facing the road and had a lovely balcony with lovely views of Porto|• Got a welcome bottle of Port and two free water bottles in the room|• Good but basic amenities in the apartment but we didn't use the cooker or anything as we were out most of the time.||Negatives|• When we arrived, there was a sign on the front door saying "if you haven't told us your arrival time, call this number". We arrived around 3pm. Firstly, we didn't know we needed to let them know our arrival time and nor did we get emailed about this. Normally, hotels email beforehand asking for this information.|• I called the number and got no response and no one was at the front desk. Luckily, someone (assuming the receptionist) saw us and opened the door for us. |• The whole apartment building has a musty, damp, humid smell which is worse in the lifts.|• The floorboards are far too noisy! We got woken up by the apartment above ours because of how loud the floorboards creek when people walk on them. |• Our apartment door lock was really tough to unlock when we wanted to open the door. This definitely needs to be looked into.||Overall, it's a great apartment in a super central location. However, if you get awoken easily then this place probably isn't for you because of how loud the...
Read moreStayed here with my wife and two adult children and we really loved it. The room was stylishly appointed, comfortable and clean. The only thing we had an issue with was the size of the water heater. It's about half the size of a water heater in the U.S. We learned to deal with that by taking quicker and shorter showers or turning off the water while soaping/shampooing. The apart-hotel is on a street with numerous vacant buildings and it's next to a hemp store. Don't let that turn you off because the street is safe, clean and busy with foot traffic since it's close to Sao Bento station. The front door is secure and always locked. The front desk person was SUPER informative and SUPER friendly. She took the time to show us where we were in relation to all the sites. She walked us to our room and gave us more details about the room. This apart-hotel is in a great location and I would not hesitate to recommend this property. I would definitely stay here again. It also comes with a free bottle of Port wine from Quinta Da Pacheca. I believe this winery also owns...
