Took a long weekend break in Porto Portugal. Stayed at the Moov Hotel, Centro which was ideal placed to explore the city. The hotel was clean & rooms of a good quality. Staff spoke English & were able to answer all enquiries. Breakfast was continental, but with a vast array of breads, cereals, yoghurts, meat/cheese & cakes. Coffee & fruit juices. We brought a 48hr Yellow Line bus & river cruise ticket from the local Tourist information office (again English spoken for those worried about language problems). For €27 you get unlimited hop on hop off of the Yellow sightseeing buses. Two routes taking two hours each. Individual headphones are supplied. Great way to explore this city. Ticket also includes a 55 minute river cruise along the Duero river. Wonderful viewing. Good value. We pre-booked a Port/wine tour via TripAdvisor website. 3 hour tour & 10 wines/port at 3 port houses. Great fun. Tip: take a business card from the Hotel reception desk. When you need a taxi to take you back to the hotel, just show them the card & hotel address. Most Taxi drivers speak only a little english, but understand the address when presented to them. A taxi from the river back to the Hotel typically costs about €5. Restaurants overlooking the River are a wonderful place to drink/eat & people watch, but prices are typically 50% greater than central Porto. So grab one drink, then move into the city to get a meal. Visit the Cathedral & The Main Train station to view the amazing tiled walls. Shop for bargains, eat locally produced custard tarts, drink cheap beer (Super Bock) & tasty local wines, then sleep. So much to see and do. You will definitely be back. My third time!

The worst hotel you can ever imagine and the last place you want to stay in Porto The room temperature is 28 degree celsius and the only machine you can turn on is the heater!!!!! It is the hotel's policy not to allow customers to turn on air conditioner because 29/4 is winter to them. Yes, room temperature 28 degree celsius is WINTER to them. There is no fan to borrow. No ventilation system. The only way to get fresh air is to open the very tiny window with no mosquito net. literally suffocating!! Mosquito will come to your room directly and you have to struggle whether you want to get fresh air or you want to die with no air. No ventilation system including the toilet. It means if you poo, the smell will go to your room. You better hope you are alone in this hotel or your wife or husband might divorce you. When you look at the official website of the hotel, it tells you that it has air conditioned. This is a lie and the staff said it is a translation problem. They know it. They said maybe I should send email to their company to reflect the problem cause I am not the first one and I will not be the last who is super angry for the crazy stupid hotel room. You make friends with the mosquito and your sweat when you try very hard to sleep!!! It is literally a scam. I don't know if it is against the local law that they lied about the air conditioner when selling the hotel room. P.S. I am writing this comment bacause I cannot fall asleep!!!! The photo is that hopeless tiny window where the mosquito coming to get your blood and ring your ears

Minimalist vibe with great location. The staff are great and the hotel is relatively clean and quiet. Location on a budget are your drivers to stay here. We wouldn’t stay here again, though. The mattress was vinyl covered and a lumpy rock. We slept with the window open to keep cool in November as the room was 23c on arrival. The thermostat cannot be overridden. The whole function of a thermostat is to adjust and regulate temperature. The management response that it cannot be done is flatly dishonest. Overall a poor night’s sleep defeated any value provided. Rooms were very compact but otherwise sufficient. My wife lying in bed did notice a curious electronic device hidden in the ceiling which is depicted. WiFi was adequate as noted. There are luggage lockers in the lobby and front desk staff graciously stored our bags before checking in for no cost. The breakfast appeared to be similar to options from cafes nearby which we patronized at half the cost.

The good -great location -bed is relatively comfortable -price is low

The bad -no air conditioning, if the outside temperature is over 70, expect your room to be hot, they also do not have any fans to offer -no bar, restaurant, room service or laundry -paid breakfast does not include any hot food -no iron -no room fridge -left my leftover takeout bag outside room for collection, when I returned to my room, it was placed BACK INSIDE my room, they didn’t clean the room because “there were clothes on the bed” and they closed the window in my room (which is the only one way of keeping it cool) and turned off the power to the room. They told me if I had any trash to get rid of, I should take the elevator 4 floors down to the lobby and hand it to them. Their excuse for putting the food back inside the room was “once we threw out food and the person complained and we had to pay for it.”

This is a cheap hotel in a great location, but don’t expect a “surprisingly great experience for the price” expect a cheap experience for...
