Olivia Marquês — Hotel in Porto

Absolutely loved staying at this beautiful hotel - we didn't want to leave! I have already highly recommend this place to family and friends.

Our room - 202, a master suite - was enormous, clean, and very charming with original wood work and a stunning wood ceiling. It had a king bed, very comfortable and firm queen pull out couch, plus two more pull out singles in a 'sitting room' off the front hall. There was desk, and a table with 2 chairs, great if you want to eat take out in your room. The bathroom has a clawfoot tub and a separate shower. There is a back terrace with stairs to the garden.

Garden was also lovely. The pool was well maintained and very clean, but very cold. We were there in early May - so perhaps it warms up in summer. We still used it and enjoyed it very much.

Breakfast was perfect - lots of pastries, meats, cheese, eggs and sausage, cereal etc. Plus fresh squeezed orange juice and great coffee made to order.

There is a very nice park across the street, and the metro station is less than one minute walk form the hotel. A few cafes and restaurants nearby.

I don't have enough superlatives to describe this place. The staff were the most helpful, friendly hotel employees I have ever come across and I have travelled extensively. It seems to be run by an endless number of amazing young people. The room was good, spacious and with a really comfortable bed. Even though it faced onto the busy street with bus stops outside, the soundproofing was excellent and although I am an extremely light sleeper, I wasn't troubled at all. There is a nice little garden out the back. The breakfast is great. The location is a little out of the centre (up the hill) and it sent the nicest area outside, next to a busy square, but it's easy to stroll into town 15-20 minutes, or to get a taxi. There are also plenty of excellent pastry shops and a supermarket nearby. But the staff are what make it so special, they were simply wonderful and I can't thank them enough for looking after us so well (including early check in and late check out) and giving us so much really helpful advice about where to eat in town. Really glad we found this little gem! First of all excellent location And really easy to find! Several transport links close by, including buses in front of the hotel and metro entrance in park across the road. We arrived early evening and after a swift check-in and being shown to our room we were greeted by knock at the door It was the receptionist who, after inputting our details into the system had noticed it was my birthday. She came with two glass support and some pastries. Which was a lovely touch, as we had not said or expected anything. The room was spacious modern clean and tidy,air-conditioning, coffee machine mini fridge with water, and a very comfy bed. At breakfast, the next morning, there was a great selection of pastries, bread, ham, and cheeses, as well, yoghurt and fruit. There’s also an option for your choice of eggs and also bacon. ||We had a great stay, and will definitely be coming back...
