Otilia Apartments — Hotel in Bucharest

Edit (after response from owner): Please read my comment below carefully. The problem is not that I lost my money. The problem is, that your reply was based on untrue facts. You wrote me, you cannot waiver the fee, as my request came less than 24 hours before arrival. But my request came well before that 24 hour. So your final justification was the 24 hours, not the non-refundable rate. I have the communication. Your answer just shows, you don't even read properly what the guest wants.

Original review: Booked well in advance via booking.com at a non refundable rate. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my trip. Given the fact that it wasn't refundable, I expected to lose my payment. Yet, via booking.com there is the option to request the property to waiver the cancellation fee. I made the request and received the response from Otilia apartments, that it's not possible given it's less than 24H before check-in; except, my request came more than 24H before. So, I asked again. This time the property referred to the policy of booking.com, that it's not possible; although booking.com offered exactly that option (and like airbnb, the host has always the option to refund nevertheless). The 1 star is due to the fact, that my request was rejected with unjust arguments. I think a client has always the right to ask and a host can always decline. Location - excellent for those who want to be in the center of the old own. Many restaurants and bars around and below the apartment. The downside of the location is the noise and music from downstairs, sometimes until late at night. But that's not really a downside for someone who understands where they're going. The apartment some sound proof windows but you can hear the noise a little bit.

Room functionality - The rooms themselves are beautiful, clean and have all the basic utilities a visitor needs (refrigerator, coffee maker, dishes and utensils, and even a hair dryer for cold, rainy days). All of the utilities were functional and worked great.

Service - We received detailed instructions on WhatsApp and there was no problem entering the apartment. For me, one of the advantages of this apartment was the availability of the room staff on WhatsApp. They respond within a few moments and there is always the feeling that there is a solution and answer for everything. For me personally, this is very important and I enjoyed it.

A really nice apartment in the center of the city, very clean with great facilities. The self check-in/check-out process was super easy and the instructions that were sent via email were very helpful.

The property is on one of the busiest streets in the old town and in the weekend it is very noisy. On Saturday, there was loud music up until 5 am, on Sunday the music stopped a couple of hours earlier.
