We visited ToRo several times during our week's stay in Bucharest and tried their pasta, burger and traditional stew. We really liked the carbonara and ToRo special pasta, and I also enjoyed an excellent Moldovian traditional pork stew with polenta and fried egg. The little version of Romanian donuts were delicious. The wine we had every time was a Romanian red - it was excellent and rich, though be aware that wine in Bucharest is not cheap like its beers! Read moreI’m personally picky with food, so I appreciated that they let me switch the type of pasta I ordered — that was a nice gesture.
However, I asked for a cream pasta without parmesan, and unfortunately received it with parmesan. When I asked to have it changed, it seemed like they just scraped off the cheese and added some greens on top, rather than preparing a new dish. That was a bit disappointing.
As for the bottled water — we were charged for each bottle brought to the table, but since we drank them all, that seemed fair.
