After walking around in the city for a while, we stepped onto the beautiful terrace of Rochelle. The sound of the water (from a little cascade) just overpowers the traffic enough to take you away from the city noise. The menu is a mix of different types of dishes and there is something for everyone. We were drawn to the mussels and the salmon filet for main dish, but when you put a fish soup on the menu as starter... we have to try that first. The soup was DELICIOUS! I think it was super fresh and and everything was spot on. Fish soup is not easy to get right and even in good restaurants it sometimes goes wrong, but this one was a bullseye. Both of us scored it ten out of ten. We also had some eggplant salad, which was good but not as awesome as the soup. Because Romanians like their fish destroyed in the pan before they put in on a plate, I asked to not overcook the fish, keep it pink, even just off raw in the middle. The chef did well and the rest of the dish was just yummy! Beetroot, parsnip, capers... it all worked. The mussels were also good in a very tasty sauce. All in all there were just minor details. Everything was high on flavour, usually because it's a bit too salty or fat or creamy. Most food doesn't need that. Quality products always taste good. Just tone it done a notch and let things be. During my recent trip to Cluj, we decided to celebrate a special birthday at Rochelle Restaurant, and it turned out to be one of the best dinner experiences we've ever had! Our family, including my sister, brother-in-law, and two lovely nieces, was treated to an unforgettable evening filled with delicious food and warm hospitality.

From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was inviting and perfect for our family gathering. The menu offered a fantastic variety of dishes that catered to all our tastes. Each meal we ordered was not only beautifully presented but also bursting with flavor. It was clear that the ingredients were fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

One memorable moment was when I realized my hands were quite dry. I asked one of the lovely staff members for hand cream, and to my delight, they promptly brought it to me, showcasing their excellent service and attentiveness.

The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, helping us with recommendations and ensuring our experience was seamless.

We come at this restaurant very often, because we think that it’s an underrated restaurant in Cluj-Napoca. The prices are fair, taking in consideration the quality and taste of the food. The atmosphere is very cosy and romantic, with candles and flowers on every table. The server was very helpful and professional, and help us guide throughout the menu, and always with a smile on his face. We ordered the Caesar Salad with a side of grilled vegetables, Assorted Bruschettas, a slice of Red Velvet Cake, and a Rooibos Tea and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. Everything was perfect and delicious, and I really urge you to order the Red Velvet Cake and the Cheddar and Prosciutto Bruschetta, just trust me, you will be amazed. The Caesar Salad was prepared traditionally, which I appreciated very much and the grilled vegetables were nice and charred, but also not dry. In the past I have tried their Fritto Misto and the Rochelle Burger, which were also amazing.
