Maison Elysée — Hotel in Sibiu

We stayed only 2 nights there. I left the key with the lady at the reception and she asked me how it was and I said everything was fine. She asked me how the temperature of the room was and I said it was a bit cold for us and I slept with the warm pyjama and a jumper the night before but everything was fine. She said that it is only us we are complaining about the temperature and she was quite upset insisting I was wrong. I said it is not about right or wrong when we came to the room from outside it was cold and the heaters were cold. That's all. She said it is not possible and it is essential I speak the truth and I should be happy at 20 degrees temperature in the room. To this day I am unsure how she came up with this figure... At this point in time I was quite upset and left it like that after her big lecture. This has not stopped here, she returned and came outside after me saying that I was lying as she went to the room and the heaters were working. I have never experienced so much anger in a person. We had a little difficulty finding the hotel because it is behind a wall and gated door, but the location was a short walk to the town square. We were able to park our car for free on the street outside. The room was large, clean, and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was updated and modern. We slept well, even though the bed was a little firm. The only thing missing was a coffee maker in the room, which would have come in handy since we had to leave early before breakfast hours, but all in all this was a nice stay and we will stay...

The hotel’s location is located on a quiet side street about two blocks from Sibiu’s main square. We had a suite with a separate living room, mock fireplace and large bedroom. The modest breakfast buffet is served in a cute area downstairs. Check-in was more like Airbnb with a code to get in to front gate and the keys were in the door of our room.
