Truly traumatising experience. So a few days ago I did laundry in the hotel. I brought my clothes to the reception but they told me that they have to collect it from the room and told the housekeeper (a man) to come to my room with me (I am a solo female traveller). He kept asking questions about me and at first I thought he’s just talkative until he asked for my number. I really didn’t want to but he was in my room and I don’t know what he would do if I reject him so I had no choice but to give it to him. He started texting me and even called my number after I ignored his message. I really wanted to block him but couldn’t because he knows where I’m staying and don’t want to make him mad. He even sent flirtatious messages with hearts, which is completely inappropriate to send to a guest as someone in hospitality. I thought that I could just ignore him until the final night at the hotel. At 7pm, someone suddenly knocked on my door. I did not asked for anything so I found it really strange. I looked through the peephole and to my surprise it was him. I was so scared that I didn’t dare to make a sound and he kept knocking for 30 minutes! He even sent a message saying “hellooo!!!”. After I stop hearing knocking sounds for a while, I double locked the door and used furnitures to block the door just in case. It was still a restless night because I was traumatised. I still get startled when I hear knocks now.

Customer service was at its best at 2000 Hotel Downtown Kigali. From the time we were picked up by the free shuttle to arriving at the hotel, to each time we left and came back everyone was helpful. They even gave us umbrellas as we wanted to go for a walk in case it rained. Speak to the reception and door staff for real prices and great places for bargains and they don’t disappoint. Everything is walking distance from here and it was very safe. The food at this place is Asian fusion but definitely worth the price compared to other places. Boda boda motorcycles are the best way to get around. Negotiation skills are a must as they quote tourist prices when they see you coming. We paid 800 Rwandan shillings from the hotel to the Genocide museum, that should be an indicator for distance and price.

Location was perfect. Rooms are super spacious: haven’t seen such a large bedroom in a hotel before. The staff were very polite, friendly and welcoming: answering all our questions about moving around Kigali and most especially helping us get a cab at the right price (after we got overcharged on our very first cab ride in Kigali). The hotel provided transportation from the airport and back, which was very convenient, the drivers were very patient and friendly. My only negative comment: there is no double glazing, which made it difficult to sleep with noise from traffic.

My recent stay at your hotel was nothing short of fantastic, and I felt compelled to share my wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived until my departure, I was consistently impressed by the high standards maintained across the board.

Breakfast & Catering - Absolutely Superb! The breakfast spread was exceptional! The variety was impressive, offering something delicious for every taste – from fresh pastries and fruits to hot, cooked-to-order options. Everything was presented beautifully, tasted incredibly fresh, and the quality was top-notch. It was the perfect way to start each day. The catering overall reflects a real commitment to quality and guest satisfaction.

Impeccable Cleanliness & Room Standards: My room (906) was spotlessly clean and maintained to an exceptionally high standard throughout my stay. The attention to detail was evident – everything felt fresh, well-organized, and meticulously cared for. It provided a truly comfortable and welcoming haven to relax in. This consistent cleanliness significantly enhanced my overall comfort and sense of well-being.

Professional, Helpful, and Truly Outstanding Staff: This is where 2000 Hotel truly shines. Every single staff member I encountered, from reception and housekeeping to the restaurant and concierge teams, was the epitome of professionalism and warmth. They were not just polite; they were genuinely attentive, proactive, and incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Their dedication to ensuring my comfort and making my experience enjoyable was palpable. They consistently went above and beyond, anticipating needs and offering assistance with a smile. Their positive attitude and efficiency made a huge difference.

Summary:My stay at 2000 Hotel was an absolute pleasure, significantly enhanced by the fantastic breakfast, the pristine condition of the rooms, and – most importantly – the exemplary service provided by your entire team. They are your greatest asset and deserve significant recognition and reward for their hard work and dedication to creating such a positive guest experience.

I will definitely be returning to 2000 Hotel on my next visit. Thank you for providing such a consistently high-quality and welcoming environment. You've set a benchmark!

With sincere appreciation,

Watson (Guest...

My stay here was the worst thing ever. The first red flag was when I landed and I had to wait an hour and a half to get a shuttle which they offered as a hotel service. They claimed that my flight was cancelled that’s why the driver left and then said he had a problem with his car. They then told me to look for a taxi by myself and that they’ll pay it when I get to the hotel mind you I’ve never been to Rwanda before and that’s why I booked a hotel with a shuttle. When I arrived at the hotel my mom wanted to speak to a manager as she was unhappy with what happened. The stuff said there was no manager at the hotel but they will call which the manager never picked up and still have not spoke to them. My room its self had problems. The WiFi would switch on and off aswell as the hotel lights and tv which was weird. Food was mid and nothing to write home about. The biggest red flag of them all was when I was leaving the hotel. I had to pay for my stay which was fine but the their card machine didn’t work and I had to tap my card 3 times which it then worked the 3rd time. The machine then dead and they refused to let me go and get my shuttle back to the airport. They said I couldn’t go as they had no proof I payed. I showed them my notification of the payment as well as my banking app. They still refused to let me go after all that mind you all this time they are taking it’s getting closer to my flight leaving. I was only left with an hour to board and nearly missed it. Don’t come here if you want...
