Updated review 2023 OCT:
One of the worst services you can expect from an upmarket restaurant in Kigali. (30 USD Per Pax cost)
The food was mediocre at best. The premises, while big, are not cleaned and have equipment scattered around. The kid's play area is dirty, without a light and a health hazard. The entrance had water on the floor from an overflowing fountain and an easy risk of slipping and falling.
The service is the worst in Kigali, they took over 1 hour and a half to bring the food. That too scattered over time, some items had flames so big under them that they immediately got burnt.
After an hour and a half of waiting we asked them to cancel whatever they had delayed and was not yet on the table. They did not let us know if the food would be delayed or if any specific items would be delayed. When we asked why many items are not yet on the table they just said it's coming.
The manager came out without any apology, to the extent of threatening us. We had clear call recordings of us calling to book and asking if we needed to order before and him clearly saying no.
The whole experience felt stressful and unnecessary. Would keep away as there are several alternatives with great service in Kigali now.
Old reviews are not valid any more: - One of the cleaner Chinese restaurants. The food is fine. The service is lacking and kills the whole experience. We do keep going back because of the ambience and...
Read moreMy last day in Kigali was crowned by our team visit to Bamboo Rooftop Restaurant that has a fabulous view over looking the Nyarugenge area! This place is a great place to "chill and hang out with friends on a Friday night"
Its one of the few restaurants that have managed to infuse different cuisines and themes to appeal to a large crowd and located on the 5th floor of the T2000 building in the central business district just next to Kigali City Tower.
The menu is on a tab(nice one! ) so you get to select your favourite meals and the best part is that the food doesn't take long. Our order was served in less than 30mins and have a great stocked bar with live band playing in the background....
Read moreBamboo Restaurant is always worth a visit. The view from the top is beautiful and the food amazing and decently priced.
It’s common in Chinese restaurants to share all dishes, but if you order separate dishes, it doesn’t hurt to mention they should be ready at the same time. The food is hot, fresh, perfectly spiced and they have many options.
The life music on Fridays though is too loud, it’s a bit exhausting to have a conversation then (but the artists are usually nice).
All in all One of our favourite places, especially for me as a vegetarian they have a lot of different vegetable based options on their...
