Even today, this park is an important place for gathering and resting for the students of all the nearby universities, whether betwixt or after the lectures (or exams). And, also a quaint place for dog owners to walk their doggos. But, despite it's salience as a social spot, I lament the loss of its grandeur and splendour it once conspicuously had. The walls that sequester the park from the remainder of the bustling city centre are worn down, full of graffiti, and downright broken in some places. And it used to be absolutely stunning. It makes you wonder whether it will ever be restored to what it once was. Not too mention the enigmatic, rusty gate that for years stood locked with chains and broken, even though the other gates are wide open. Here's hoping that this beautiful park in the heart of Belgrade gets restored to its grand...

Park In the very center of Belgrade Downtown. Under the ground, there are antic findings from Roman era, but because of lack of funding for the full restoration in the end of 60-ties, the decision from authorities was to backfill the whole site to preserve it when the funds become available (did not happen to this day). The actual findings were related to a Roman spa (Roman thermae) that was built back then at this location. Some Roman reminiscences can be found in the immediate surroundings of this Downtown location, but they are rather modestly exposed and certainly not impressive to the level they deserve to be considering the potential...

Generation of kids grew up in this park. Unusual blend that works quite well - one part of the park is for children, and the other for students from a whole bunch of faculties around. A place for dogs also. A quick pit stop with your child-that's probably the best description. On the down side: as opposed to the student's section, small children section has benches with no back rests, which is uncomfortable for longer stays. Also, because parks in Belgrade don't get locked up at night, it can be very dirty the...

One of the oldest parks/town squares in Belgrade with a lot of history! This place once was turkish graveyard, market place, town square... and now park. It's surrounded with a lot of nice and historical buildings, and colleges so it's popular within students. Here you can chill next to monuments to some of the most famouse Serbs: Josif Pancic (botanist), Jovan Cvijic (geographer and enthnologist) and Dositej Obradovic (philospher, liberttist, dramatist...).

A lively and well-maintained park, often quite busy, especially during weekends and afternoons. It's a popular spot for families, so you’ll see lots of children playing and running around. The atmosphere is energetic and friendly, though it might not be the best place if you're looking for peace and quiet. Great for a walk, people-watching, or spending time with kids.
