Penzión Nostalgia — Hotel in Banská Štiavnica

This is an old, historic house that was completely renovated and turned into a guesthouse, but its "genius loci" has still remained. You can read more about it directly in the guesthouse in a booklet at the entrance. You will love it.

There are different rooms or bigger apartments available. Note that as this is an old traditional house, it can be cold for some todays people. However, it perfectly isolates the summer heat from the outside and when you open the windows, the sun comes and brings you some warmth. The duvet covers are thick though, and there are additional blankets available. Some rooms also offer additional electric heaters for your comfort (apart from the usual radiators).

There is an inner patio to sit or have breakfast in the sun right behind the entrance.

Parking place available in front of house and must be reserved beforehand for €8/night as per communicated on the official website.

There is a fully equipped shared kitchen downstairs (fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven, cutlery, cups, plates, dishwashing thingies either for dishwasher or washing by hand, kettle, small electric cooker).

Receptionists were super patient and helpful both over the phone and in person.

😊: Very nice place to stay, very friendly staff, we were first told there had to be at least 4 people to order breakfast and we two seemed to be the only ones staying, but they still were kind enough to fix breakfast for us two, we were the only two eating! The reception did not speak English but was still very helpful and it worked fine with Google Translate. Also nice retro atmosphere in the guesthouse which was very comfy and cozy, can highly recommend to stay here if you visit Banská...

😊: Travelled with some English friends all around Slovakia and this property has been THE BEST out of all of them. Stunning building, amazing, friendly staff, kitchen had EVERYTHING you could wish for. Beautiful furniture, old beams, lovely wooden floors, quiet street, comfy sofa, comfy beds. You name it, they have it!. 😢: Would've liked a standing shower but it wasn't an issue. I wish we stayed for 2-3 nights rather than just one. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK...
