Bistro Ďumbier — Restaurant in Banská Štiavnica

We stopped here because we found out they have vegan options (which is hard to find in this region). We wanted to order vegan curry but it wasn't available. Then we chose Vegan burger but after double checking if it's vegan (because allergens labeled weren't suggesting it's vegan) the waitress said it's vegan but in homemade bun is milk...I said that means it's not vegan at all. Honestly, I was shocked they offering a burger named vegan burger and labeling it with vegan symbol but then it's not vegan at all.

Definitely not recommended if you have allergies, they don't know what they are labeling...it seems what they're doing is only for business (attract tourists there) and don't realise how much impact it can have for people's health if they serve something which is labeled as vegan but in real life it's not.

I have severe allergies and one of them is a milk allergy so I'm glad I double checked. If you are going there definitely double check if food which you ordered contains milk/eggs/animal products or in numerical terms (1-14). 3 = eggs 7= all dairy products, so keep an eye out for those if you're vegan. I would rather avoid next time though. Not worth the risk, especially if you have allergens.

15.08.2025 Ak pozeráte recenzie, radím filtrovať od najhorších a hlavne si pozrieť reakcie majiteľa – tie majú od profesionálnych veľmi ďaleko.

Pozitívne reakcie sú vo veľkej miere cez QR kód pri pokladni – bez komentárov, po vyzvaní od čašníčky. Samozrejme, sú aj s komentármi a verím, že si niektorí pochutnali, no my určite nie.

Boli sme partia siedmich veľmi hladných chlapíkov, ktorí by zjedli aj klince, podvečer o 18:30 piatok – jedlo sme zjedli komplet (píšem to ako predpokladanú reakciu majiteľa na prázdne taniere).

Reštauráciu som vybral na základe hodnotení, očakávania boli teda vysoké… a bohužiaľ nesplnené.

Poďme na to:

zabudli na e-mailom potvrdenú rezerváciu stola, ešte že som volal polhodinu pred príchodom čašníčka pri objednávaní 3× odbehla bez vysvetlenia – mali plno, usádzala hostí, ale počas diktovania jedla sa otočila a odišla lepkavé kura teriyaki, presolená omáčka – ale zjedli sme 2 rôzne pivá chutili po trubkách, viac neobjednané nejaký šalát bowl – ok burger mäso bowl – slabota burger – slabučký priemer batatové hranolky – dobré limonády – fajn

Gól prišiel pri platení. Komunikácia po zaplatení: Č: „To víno ma mrzí (nevybrali sme si z ponuky), ale aspoň jedlo dobré.“ Ja: bez reakcie Č: „Ako vám chutilo?“ Ja: „Chcete úprimne počuť? (to, čo som vypísal vyššie, by som kľudne prediskutoval) Kura teriyaki bolo presolené…“ Č: „No, to sú vaše chute…“ Ja: tým debata skončila – nechceli počuť, aj keď na recenzie reagujú tak, že chcú počuť hneď...

O minútu si k nášmu ešte neodpratanému stolu sadla mamička s dieťaťom a pýtala sa čašníčky, či môže. Mohla, ale čašníčka to nepekne okomentovala v kuchyni, ktorá je hneď vedľa pokladne.

Recenziu som pôvodne neplánoval písať, no dojali ma hlavne reakcie majiteľa a prístup čašníčky ku kritike. Nemôžem dať jednu hviezdu, ale od troch to bolo ďaleko

Reštauráciu neodporúčam – ani pre chuť, ani pre atmosféru.

Despite some other reviews, our experience was really good. The food was tasty and after a long time I ended up eating something new and good. My son had a burger and even he was happy. We will come again if we manage. I certainly recommend the restaurant. One of the reviewers said,that the restaurant was empty. By us as well,but the whole city is abandoned and thank god this restaurant does not give up on people and waits for customers despite the off season situation.
