Actually we were literally downgraded to Cosmopolitan I. (the brother guest house, several minutes down the street). We booked one night in Cosmopolitan II., but when we arrived, the doors were locked. Nobody answered the given phone number as well. A nice waitress from a restaurant next door even tried to reach someone from the Pension privately without any success. She was also the one who gave us the hint that there's Cosmopolitan I. down the street, where we can try to find an answer to this situation. In Cosmopolitan I. the receptionist was also not knowing anything, but reached at least someone on the phone who told us that we were relocated from Cosmo II. to Cosmo I. "Would be better for us anyway, because we need a parking lot and Cosmo II. doesn't have." Well, first: then don't offer the place as if it had one. Second: LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE and don't let it be a scavenger hunt for us! The location of Cosmo I. is worse than II. The room was nice and clean, that to be said. The breakfast was also ok. WiFi...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for one night. It is a nice historical building at the crossroads, it´s in a nice historical building. The hotel is situated in the center, with a two minutes walk from the Main Square. All of those amazing caffés and restaurants are not further than 3 minutes. We stayed in Mikoviny´s room, it was cozy and nice. The only bad thing was minimum of light, as we had a wall right in front of our windows (in the photo). ||Breakfast, served from 8AM to 10AM, was amazing. Everyone would choose, it was really tasty and we enjoyed it a lot.||On the other hand, we weren´t satisfied with the parking. Parking, that was offered by the hotel, was pretty far away. There is not that much to think about when it comes to parking in Banska Stiavnica, so we went down the town to park. It was locked and the password we were told about didn´t work. Also, we would be charged for parking there. We left our car right next to Botanical Garden, it was for free and about 4 minutes...
Read moreThis "pension" has no elevator, no lobby, no restaurant, no AC and no English-language channels. Other than that, it is fine. What made the place acceptable for one night was the lovely, in every way, Ms. Mullnerova, who put us in one of the two best rooms in the place after we told her the room assigned was unacceptable. We were told that breakfast service began at eight; but apparently because she heard our driver/guide telling us we needed to leave by 8:30 the next morning to get where we were going for the day, she had the breakfast buffet set up at 7:30 - noiselessly, which we can say because our room was one of the two right off the breakfast room and we heard nothing and did not even know things had been put out until we stepped out of the room. She also arranged the meat platter and the cheese platter so that the food looked like flowers! She is just an all-around...
