Grand Central Apartment — Hotel in Bratislava

I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Apartment in very bad neighborhood - in the middle of the night, someone tried to break in and rob us!!!

Coming back from a vacation in Croatia, we needed an overnight stay for 3 families with children. At about 21.30 we checked into Pension Petit (there is registration, about 400 meters from the Grand Central Apartment), we paid for the room and parking (additional 12 euros for the car - parking is about 100 meters from Petit and about 500 meters from the Apartment ). The entrance to the apartment is difficult to find - the entrance is through a dark, unlit courtyard.

We went inside and put the kids to sleep when someone started pounding and screaming at the door. Heard a few male voices, strong banging on the door being voted and screaming to give them Euro, then they would go away. We called the reception - where it turned out that the apartment has no security and we should call the police. We called and for the half hour with someone at 112, who was amused by my story and the voice of crying children playing in the background. The police reportedly came to our door and went on . The apartment is in the attic and all the windows overlook the roof - we could not see if there is police or offenders- there was no glass in the door either. Worker on 112 could not tell us is that rally police, he thought that I did not understand Slovakian language, and said: "I think the woman watched to many American movie so she is afraid to open door". After an hour of staying trapped in the apartment, afraid to go out or someone waiting outside the door. Another call to the police, finally a patrol arrives, who as soon as they finds out we are Poles, laughs at the whole situation and asks why we didn't just give the burglars this money and they would go away ... we ask the police to escort us to the hotel station because we were promised another place to stay the night. Police not only did not help us but also were offensive why we even called them. In the middle of the night we have been forced to run away and go to Petite. I do not recommend! Staff od aparment NOT helpful. All of People were prejudiced...

Little bugs (like small ants) in the kitchen, wannabe budists downstairs doing morning...
