Very unprofessional approach to the client. Could not sleep till 5 in the morning as they hold a party in the restaurant under my room after telling me just the afternoon before I can’t have lunch or dinner there as the restaurant is closed during this period…||I have booked a room in this hotel for a night to be able to rest in the middle of a long trip back home next day. Very bad choice … I had no sleep till 5 am in the morning as there was a huge party practically under my room in their restaurant with loud music, drunk people yelling, microphone loud speaking and so on and the hotel personnel and management could not care less about their paying clients. At 1:45 a.m. I managed to get on phone someone at reception to complain about noise and that is impossible to sleep with a party running under my room and of course they promised to solve the situation but nothing happened and the loud mess continued even louder till morning. In the morning I went to see the manager. The receptionist was clearly embarrassed about the situation and told me they understand but they can’t bother the manager as he was at the party till 5 am in the morning and he sleeps now... I was shocked to hear that excuse and I told them that I want to speak to someone responsible and in any other hotel especially 4 stars one this would not happen or they will offer a different room or reimbursement of the service they actually didn’t fulfilled and I paid in advance not even mentioning some formal excuse from management. Also, I underlined that I checked in just the day before in the afternoon so they knew they would have a party for sure and they could easily offer me a different room that the one that was practically over the restaurant especially that the hotel was not fully booked and I didn’t require any special room or size etc. I was promised he will arrange something by the time I return for check out, he even mentioned that as he cannot disturb the manager, he will ask the director to come. At my return no surprise no management was there and the reception guy actually told me that he solved the problem and he was allowed to return me 15 euros … that he actually threw on the counter in the form of small coins and some crumpled small bill like we would return some change in the fruit market or tipping in a cheap restaurant … I told him that this is absolutely a bad joke and I don’t expect to get small change in coins from a hotel as compensation after practically taking my money for luxury service and offering a night without sleep and nerves and all the answer I got was that I can complain on social media … like the booking site. ||This hotel is listed as 4 stars but far from that. All it offers are rooms far from any luxury, no restaurant service at this moment except for them serving breakfast and as we could see loud private party overnight, no other services no pool or spa or so on so I would expect that practically their main service sleeping comfortable would be delivered in a very good quality which is not. Imagine you pay a 4-star hotel to rest for a 10-hour trip by car waiting for you next day and you get a loud party that keeps you awake till 5 a.m. ||Even abstraction of the arrogant approach of the management of this hotel and practically not being able to sleep all night I would not recommend this hotel for other reasons. The room I got was in an office style furniture, very big in size but no practicality to it. Beds are very small, pillows flat and not at all comfortable to sleep on, if you are a larger size or turn once you risk to fell off.. Most of the rooms have a “view” on a dirty ugly wall or looking directly in someones else widow that is very close to your own window (picture attached). There is huge space but very little in terms of storage, no dressing and just few hangers on an open space bar. The desk had no practical sockets on or besides, I had to unplug something under the desk to get a charger in and if you have no long enough cable youll have to put your phone or laptop on the floor anyway so at the end I gave up charging anything. Same, no proper sockets near bed, just on one side far enough also from bedside tables. Some damaged furniture left as it is with wooden chips showing. Bathroom had a very disturbing noisy venting system. I would also give a warning that if you take a shower there is a bath tub and you have to be careful not slipping as the bottom of the tub is rather rounded and not very practical to keep balance when wet so an older person could fall easily, nothing to hold on too. Cleaning was overall acceptable but main switcher in the room very dirty (see photo), also windows were dirty which added a negative note to the so-called view itself (see photo). Breakfast as I read the reviews before is not a plus in this hotel but I would say food wise is rather standard cheese, eggs omelet, etc what was disappointing was pastry choice, the coffee from machine very bad and the juice was practically so diluted with water so was more like water with some flavour.||It`s a pity a hotel that called himself with tradition can treat customers like that especially that I chose as our relatives in Kosice typically brought us here every time we were in the city for lunches or family events so I wanted to in a way give back into their business as I could chose any other hotel around and get a much better room or service. You have plenty of choice from chain hotels, to boutique hotels on the main historical street so don’t waste your money for this hotel and especially save yourself useless stress and arrogant approach by choosing better than...
Read moreBy fast the best about this hotel is its location on Hlavna, the attractive, pedestrian main street of Kosice. Good was also the breakfast buffet with a rich choice of everything, also with plenty of fruit. On top it is available as of 7am (not 8.30am as at my accommodation in Bratislava).||My room was on the first floor facing a dirty wall with a window, that had people behind it. Even with the lights on the room was dark and depressing, just as the whole hotel, which also has poor lighting. The room had a good size, but a lot was missing. There were no tea and coffee making facilities and the wardrobe could hardly be called that. It had a writing desk, but no table light, so I could not use it at night.||The bathroom had plenty of toiletries and the shower worked well, but since it was in a bathtub with a rounded bottom it cannot be considered safe. Also it had an annoyingly loud ventilation system in there. The room was serviced during breakfast after the first night, but after that it was not serviced at all.||The room was quiet at night, but during the day one could hear for hours a drill going on in a workshop just opposite. On check-in the receptionist told me that the main door of the hotel closes at 10pm and that checkout is at 10am, which I think far too early for...
Read moreThe first thing you notice is you walk up a long tunnel into the hotel. First impression is the desk of the Receptionist is pretty cheap and not really well kept. The staff members on the reception are exceptionally friendly and take care of you well. I was on the 2nd floor, the moment you step out of the lift the lights come on according to sensors. I found once I came out of my room and it was dark the sensors dont always work immediately. ||||Once you towards the restaurant, the dishes on the right side are in a cupboard, almost very old fashioned and from earlier times. The lighting in the restaurant was ok but had dead flies in the light cover. The breakfast food was acceptable for the type of hotel this is. ||||The room: Its very simple but generally fine and comfortable. The room I had looked onto the roof of an old building but nothing the hotel can change on this issue. I didnt try the evening menu in the hotel. The hotel is generally nice, but for business purposes not really my type of hotel but that doesnt reflect anything...
