FREYM - City bistro & Cocktail bar — Restaurant in Košice

Cute little restaurant right in the main section of Old Town. Several options for food and drink. The decor is vibrant and there is an indoor and outdoor seating area. We sat inside with no wait. I had the cherry vanilla tea and it was amazing! It had slices of fresh orange which really made it have a nice zing. I ordered two! My friend had the strawberry lemonade and said she loved it. We shared the grilled shrimp in chili which came with very light, fluffy bread. I had the quesadilla, which contained a little too much red onion that I had to pick out. I love onion, but these were thinly sliced and way too many. The mushrooms in it were good and the shredded beef was tasty. My friend had originally ordered the burger but they forgot about it and we had to finally flag down the waiter to ask about it. (Not sure if it is the culture, but the waiter never checked on us once he took our order so it was hard to get anything else ). Since they forgot her burger she changed it to the chicken strips and absolutely loved them. They had a very crispy panko breading and came with hot, crispy fries, ketchup and blue cheese dipping sauce.I should have ordered those as well but will get them next time. This is a cocktail bar that also serves breakfast menu, buuuut… as it always is with places like this - places that try to be everything for everyone, one part is ok, the other one sucks.

For us, we had a satisfactory experience with cocktails there, but breakfast was a catastrophe, absolutely not recommended. Except the fact that it took 40++ minutes to get our food, it was extremely average, there was one waitress who - although trying her best, took really a while to attend to the tables (maybe to employ more people?).

We had eggs Benedict, and it was almost tasteless. Sauce from the box. Also, the place is supposedly serving (and also charging price for) fresh orange juice, but it’s certainly not a freshly pressed orange juice, it’s freshly served from the box.

Don’t go there for the breakfast, except the nice decor, it’s a lost cause. Cocktails...
