Republika Východu — Restaurant in Košice

We come here with my girlfriend for a nice evening dinner. As it was review one of the best spot in town we were really excited. We sit down, got menu and after few minutes the waiter arrived, i order my “trepanki” while she ordered the pancake… we got told they run out of all chiken dishes, so she asked for pork tenderloin salat. which they did not had either. so we asked the waiter to wait a bit so we can choose new dishes and drinks. After 5minuts my “trepanki” arrived before he retirn to prder us again 🤷🏼‍♂️ so we now siting there with one meal at the front of me, without deinks or even order of a dish for my girlfriend dinner. After about 25min (when i was finished for like 15min with my dish) they did bring her the salat (which was good) there was not even cuttlery on table.. Its a very shame to see a good food to be served so badly with very poor servis. we will probably not come back again as this felt really...

Very authentic Slovak restaurant serving traditional Slovak food. The atmosphere here was very well set to show eastern Slovakia traditions and people already know this restaurant for this atmosphere and theme. The food was good but we waited circa 40minutes, although we arrived in the peak time, but most tables were already eating. And when the food finally arrived it was soooo hot that I burned my myself with two different dishes. When it was finally not that hot anymore the food was actually good. The service was nice and helped us find sitting with moving tables around. The menu is unnecessary complicated with a lot of pictures of famous people visiting what I personally don't like to see in the menu. I understand that they want to show how famous they are but it is disturbing when trying to find something to eat. Also, I would increase the offer with more traditional dishea. A nice, laid-back place that offers plenty of breakfast options. You can consider it as a good option for a cafe and a cake.

We went there for a lunch, however, and food was great too - easily among the ones we'd consider visiting again. The menu consists of mostly traditional meals but with a modern twist, which plays out very well. There are a couple of more generic options as well.

The service was excellent.

We were at a table outside (great spot for people watching, by the way) but on a hot day you can appreciate that the room inside is air-conditioned.
