LONDON Boutique hotel & Restaurant — Hotel in Trnava

To start on positive note - the Hotel is in great location, just few minutes walking from the main city square, with plethora of historical attractions nearby and surprisingly high number of restaurants&bars. Which is almost the same thing in Europe - in every restaurant you can get drink from beer to cognac. The personnel in hotel was nice and helpful for central Europe. The room was decent for sleeping and had an AC, which is still not the norm in Slovakia. The best thing was really large bathroom. Now, the bad part was very limited parking - better said almost no parking at all. The courtyard had parking place for four small European cars, if people did a good job parking. Otherwise, only three cars could park there. You have to get to this "parking" lot via very narrow passage from the street in front of the line of historical buildings. Only few inches to spare from walls. Even "better" was the fact that parking was shared with offices in the building in first come-first serve mode. There was paid parking in front of the hotel - if you could find the place to park. These historical towns are so cool and interesting, but not built for so many cars that seem to park everywhere. So, when you come to this hotel with the car on your trip across the country as we did, you better be prepared that you never know if and how far from the hotel you'd find the parking place. Or better yet, choose some hotel with reserved and available parking - specifically ask for parking included in the price when booking in this town. The location of this hotel is fantastic! You are right in the heart of the old town and no more than 10-15 minutes away from all of the new town facilities. We had a family room which is on the outside of the hotel and the size of it is fantastic, but it was very hot and humid and this room as no AC at all. It had one very small fan in the main room and we all ended up sleeping in that room to try to get some relief from the heat. The room has a 'kitchen' but it doesn't have much to justify that billing! You really couldn't cook anything there. The room is the reason that I can't honestly give the hotel a 5 rating. Breakfast is only okay, but enough to get you going. Parking at this hotel is almost non-existent with only two 2-3 spaces on hotel property. Be aware that if you don't get a space on property that you will have to pay for a meter outside. Not a big deal at night, but during the day the parking police are quick to ticket. Our friends got a ticket, but the hotel manager took the ticket and paid it himself which I thought was a really nice touch. Four of us stayed here for a week recently. The location is wonderful and within walking distance of all the local attractions. The hotel is quiet, the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is perfectly adequate. The croissants are excellent. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and pillows. |The restaurant is excellent. We had dinner here on one evening which we all enjoyed.
