Our experience at Apartmaji Triglav was not good, especially when traveling with a small child. In short: room on the 3rd floor with no elevator, neglected shower, sewage smell, mattress in bad condition, weak breakfast, and unfriendly attitude from the receptionist on the first day. The price–quality ratio does not match.
In detail: even though we were traveling with a 2-year-old (clearly mentioned in the booking and we even requested a baby bed), we were given a room on the 3rd floor with no elevator, and to reach breakfast we had to go one floor lower than reception, which meant 4 floors in total. When we mentioned this to the receptionist who welcomed us on the day of arrival, she told us that “we should have mentioned in the booking that we were coming with a small child,” even though it was already clearly stated in the reservation. However, after we complained about the strong sewage smell in the room, her attitude changed and she became unfriendly. The shower was in a very neglected state, the toilet had stains, and there were no hooks for towels. Since the beds were uncomfortable even when pushed together because of the gap, I lifted the sheets to place a blanket between them and discovered a broken piece of foam placed on top of the mattress — a very unacceptable surprise. Breakfast was disappointing: little variety, greasy eggs, terrible coffee; the only good point was the 4–5 types of fruit available. On top of that, the same receptionist also tried to charge me for a coffee from the machine, while another staff member gave it for free on a different day. In conclusion, the price–quality ratio does not match and we honestly do not understand the very positive reviews this place has. Positive points: the area is beautiful, the room was spacious, and the other staff...
Read moreRoom ok , large and clean, but very sparse, as in nothing really in the lounge areas apart from a sofa ( bed?) And a small dining table with plastic chairs so no where for 4 people to sit comfortably in the evening. Parking chaotic. Had to wait for others to leave when checking in to park as nothing to say parking can only be used by guests. Others coming in after us were left to search elsewhere, not good when most people will drive to the hotel. Front desk very helpful though and there is free WiFi. You also need to book a breakfast slot of 30 mins so they can fit people in. However the reason for the 1 star is that upon arrival we found our room had been changed from a deluxe apartment with views to lake and triglav, to a side apartment with only a slight view of the lake looking left, mostly some other buildings and the road. No one appears to know why we were moved, but some mutterings about rate changes after we booked. Whilst the front desk was apologetic and tried to be kind, I will be taking it up with the manager tomorrow, but be warned in case they do this to you too. If you can't trust a hotel to keep the room you actually booked and paid for in good faith then out of principle I will avoid in future and advise all my colleagues and the agent we booked through to...
Read moreA fantastic base for exploring the lake bohinj area! Had a double room with balcony and the room was clean and spacious and the kitchen was a plus. A short walk to the lake, hiking trails, or nearby grocery store. Easy walk to get there from the bohinjska jezero bus stop in the off season when the tourist bus isn’t running. Breakfast was good too.
Staff was extremely helpful and kind. Recommend a few nice hikes for us and which mountain huts to visit. Even let us borrow hiking poles from a bin near the front door. Sauna/wellness area was a plus on a rainy day too.
Had dinner at the restaurant as well, and it was great! They did a 3/4/5 course meal since it was restaurant week, and had great wine options too. Have a large outdoor seating area too, I would...
