Nana Bistro & Kavarna — Restaurant in Maribor

We had the brunch for 2 people. 5 stars for presentation, 3 stars for service and 4 stars for quality. Presentation amazing for the brunch, quality there is quite room for improvement. The plate was prepared in advance which means some of the fruits were already oxidated, the granola was not crunchy anymore and some of the cold cuts like salami had hardened borders already. The bread was boring unfortunately and it could have been better by being warmed up at least. Coffee was waterly. However, the orange juice was fresh and the eggs were amazing with micro greens amazing.

The service unfortunately leaves also some room for improvement we were not asked once during the breakfast whether we wanted more coffee or needed anything. We had to get up to get salt and pepper for the eggs ( it is fine but seems like it is an obvious missing item from the tables), we had to wait quite a lot for the bill as no one looks at you, even though there are many waiters around and not that crowded.

I feel like with a few changes to quality and service this place...

We had lunch here today, the menu options looked great and the place looked nice. That is about everything positive I can say. The server ( guy with glasses) we had was very rude. As someone who works in a restaurant I can understand that some days you don’t feel great. But please, being friendly isn’t the hardest job in the world. One of our meals was being messed up in the kitchen but the server didn’t tell us, I had to stand up and ask where the meal was. We waited 20minutes for the forgotten meal. One of the other meals (salad) had salmon in it, but the salmon wasn’t cooked enough, it was still raw. We send the salmon back because we didn’t want to get sick but it took 30min, even after asking after it, to be brought back. The other food was good, I’ll give them that, but maybe we were also just hungry from waiting really long. Not the best experience. Maybe we just had bad luck since the other reviews are good. (There was also one friendly server (girl with ponytail without glasses) thank you for being nice and changing the score from 1star...

Great location, but service and food was average or below average.

The food has good ideas, however poor execution and its toped up with extremely poor service- or basic service that is ordering, bringing to the table and payment.

No one ever asked us how we liked it, and when in the end we said that the soup of the day had no flavor, it wasn’t dealt with anyhow. Fortunately, I’ve noticed salt and pepper on the server station and took those, otherwise we wouldn’t get asked anyways.

Asked 2 times for water for a dog (hot day in July) then went to the bar to take it myself.

I’d recommend quinoa bowl, that one was okay. Soups were not great for the price and sandwiches neither. Drinks are quite expensive, overall quite expensive not great experience, with asking for...
