Memento is excellent and extraordinary in every way. I would rate it 10 stars+ if I could. Seriously, book here now for the stay of a lifetime. ||It is without a doubt the best place I have stayed in years. Before I even booked, the communication with staff was excellent. They took the time to answer my questions about the property, transport to/from, and the city of Piran in general. Upon arriving, everyone was warm, friendly and kind, and super helpful throughout my stay. They provided excellent restaurant recommendations (see my other reviews - every one of the recommendations was excellent), helped me with transport to my next destination, recommended good shops for authentic souvenirs and gifts, etc. They went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable, comfortable, and memorable. Check in and payment was a breeze. ||As for the property itself, you could not ask for more. First, the location is PERFECT. Just steps from the main Tartini Square (the heart of the city and excellent cafe-ing and people watching), Memento is nestled on a quiet, atmospheric cobbled street right under a gorgeous, pink, venetian looking building. 5ish min walking uphill in the opposite direction from Tartini Square brings you to St. George's cathedral, with an excellent viewpoint over the city. Piran is small, and Memento is central and close to everything including restaurants, the oceanfront promenades, the marina/harbor, museums and eating and drinking options. For those arriving by car - it is located in a pedestrian only area, but no worries at all -- You can be dropped off in Tartini square and it is literally less than a 5 min walk (and an easy one) to get to the front door. The staff will coordinate with you upon arrival/departure to make sure you can find the place and even offered to help with my luggage from the drop off. I can't speak to parking, as I used transfer services and did not have a car, but I believe they do have parking arrangements as well. ||The rooms are well appointed, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was modern and renovated with great water pressure and lasting hot water. The bed was VERY comfy. AC works REALLY well (and this is a heat-hating American talking) which was key as it was HOT when I was there. Housekeeping came every day (unless you put the do not disturb sign up) and replaced towels, etc. Free Wifi was strong and consistent, and TV had channels in various languages. ||Memento offers free breakfast at a lovely bakery around the corner, and has complimentary snacks in the hotel lobby available pretty much anytime. There is a roof deck area with a great view. ||Overall, this place was PERFECTION. Great location, great rooms, great staff...everything was clearly designed with the guest in mind and it is abundantly clear that everyone who works here has the priority of making you feel pampered and well as you enjoy the city of Piran. I cannot say enough good things and already want to go back both to the wonderful city of Piran and to Memento itself. I will...

Read moreWe stayed 2 nights in this lovely boutique hotel. Quite fresh and recently renovated while keeping the character of the old buildings it is in. |Our room was 301, not the largest for space and 2 suit cases, and not the quietest. First night only the neighbours directly outside our window made some noise but the second night must have been more occupants in the Hotel as you could hear them walking around the wooden floors above. Also our room wasn't the best for views but some rooms have small balconies and better outlooks. We did utilise the rooftop terrace that is open for all the guests. The view from the terrace is of the sea on one side and the clock tower and rooftops on the other. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and communication both before and during our stay was great. The hotel is in the car free zone of Piran . You park outside of the town and there is a shuttle that runs every 10 minutes to take you back and forth, or you can access the central area for a maximum 1 hour to unload. The hotel pays for the parking so it's free for guests. |Presently the hotel doesn't have a food offering however the owner is changing that shortly with a nearby bakery being converted to a dining option for guests. They currently give you coupons for a complimentary breakfast at a nearby cafe. And if you get hungry at any time during the day they always had a bar of pastries and fruit you can...
