We originally booked into the holiday express in Cape Town but the Radisson came up as being a good choice so we decided to move hotels. The only query I had at the time was about parking. It wasn’t clear if parking was available or not. It took me awhile to get a response to an email that I sent out. I ended up phoning up and they explained that parking is on a first come first serve outside. After we’ve made the booking online, I’m also VIP member not gloating but grateful for the benefits such as early check-in upgrades and late checkout plus free breakfast! We received a standard template email back from the Hotel copy below talking about the amazing renovations taking place during our stay when I asked about the impact on the quality of stay on guests I didn’t get a reply. I can see why now from the minute we checked in until about 4 pm, there was constant drilling banging hammering and a repair petition of building and construction noise throughout the hotel. The work was meant to start from 10 am till 3 pm but we noticed it started from 8:30 am onwards throughout the day we mentioned this to staff who were clearly not interested and I’ve heard this before several times. I mentioned that we had problems with hot water and it taken about 10 minutes of running the water for it actually run lukewarm when I mentioned this to Reception I got the standard reply or no one else has complained. Well, I’m complaining and they couldn’t do anything about it. On the plus side we had a lovely suite or the bathroom accommodation onto the sleeping arrangement was a bit strange, the food in the restaurant breakfast was good. The bus service was good. The reception said on the hall when everything was going okay was friendly. We did manage to get parking so that wasn’t a challenge and that was outside the hotel as well. On the negative side far too noisy, staff not interested if you have a problem, our door lock was faulty. We had problems logging into the room using the key card and on our last day my wife had to wait 20 minutes for a member of security to come up and let her in because none of the key cards she has been given repetitively from staff and actually worked. Great views from the top floor restaurant although not technically part of the Radison hotel so worth a visit. Without wanting sound entitled I was surprised at the lower level of quality of service and standard at the hotel despite the reputation...

The worst NYE event ever. What a waste of our time and money. We would have been better off staying home as friends.

Selling a basic Tanqueray Gin for R1000 is absurd! That gin is R300 at the shop. No one bought that, not even the tourists.

Music started well, with a DJ from Durban but then just went downhill when they switched. Worse, we we told that a local DJ from the township would take over from 11pm and usher us into the new year. LIES. 30 min to midnight, my husband went to give the DJ a "look" then only did he indicate that he'd change the atrocious music selection. Mind you, this man come to us, we didn't ask, so they created anticipation but failed to deliver.

THIS MAN DID NOT COUNT US DOWN TO MIDNIGHT. Not only did he choose a slow jam Master KG song from 2019 to usher us in, he created anticipation only for him to out of nowhere say "we're officially in 2024". NO COUNT DOWN. The last thing we heard from him was 10 min to 2024. Everyone was so confused, the moment was ruined. People came out of their hotel rooms with kids and the kids were just as confused.

Who plays "People" less than 5 minutes after midnight?🤔 That's such a sad and depressing song. 🎵 I've been drinking more alcohol for the past 5 days, did you check on me? did you look for me? 🎵

The buns and the sliders were dry. Microwave dry. Someone reheated the food incorrectly. Prawns were nice though. I'll give them that.

I didn't expect club level music and atmosphere, hense we chose the hotel. We wanted good music and a good time overlooking the city, nothing extreme, but THIS?!

Anyway, nice hotel and roof top views. And stop putting so much ice in the cocktails, it's just water...

I have had very unpleasant experiences in this hotel. I reserved 9 rooms including the breakfast but when i did check in, i was asked to pay for the breakfast. I needed to argue about it for about 30 minutes at around 11 pm. I had had cold so I wanted to take a rest. They also asked me the unexpected tourist levy without any document. I asked to show me the document but the manager didn't do that even though a receptionist showed me eventually. At the end, about the breakfast, as a tour leader, I asked them to provide the food in advance without any inconvenience because all the staff from reservation office was gone back at night and said, let's sort the issue out after the breakfast time and they agreed with it, but one of my customers called me in early morning and she said she cannot eat the breakfast. Later on, a staff from the reservation agreed that was an error of their system. In addition, I have used this hotel 3 times this year and they got my passport when I did the check in, I became Chinese rather than Korean. Lastly, as a tour operator, I met a sales manager in June and we discussed further relationship and she promised to get to me by email with details but nobody has been getting to me even though I have asked it again and again several times.

I got very surprised and shocked that this was the service of 4 star hotel in the middle...

The hotel was in good location in the Cape town and accessible to important spots in city. Walking distance to the convention center and Victoria and Alfred waterfront. Very friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. The staff at the reception especially Ms Carmen and Mr Wilbur were particularly helpful. They also arranged contacts for the local tours. We had requested for and early check in and a late check out and we were very pleased that they were considerate to allow us both of them. The breakfast though not free and was an add on but was very good. As we couldn’t fully finish our breakfast, they also allowed to have take away. The wifi in the room which we choose was not working, but really appreciate that the hotel staff gave an upgrade so as to enable us get the wifi. There is a rooftop bar and pool but I didn’t use. There was small area near the reception where I could do some online work. The hotel is slightly dated and needs refurbishment. We booked this hotel as the website mentioned there is good view of Table Mountain, however it is now obstructed by new buildings. The rooms are exceptionally clean and very comfortable and cleaned every day very well We really enjoyed our stay here.
MMMM
Great hotel location if doing things in and near the city center. Very convenient to access different parts of the city. The rooms are nice, beds are always cleaned. Wi-Fi is great, and there are sports on the TV. There was a safe in the room and a mini fridge. The glass wall separating the room from the bathroom shower is weird, but I've seen it before in Asia. The breakfast is fantastic and at a great price point -- just get it. You won't be walking to nearby cafes or restaurants in the morning...you could, but you won't want to. The food includes fruits, bakery items, eggs, bacon, a chef's special (veggies, or potatoes) and maybe sausages. Coffee is good. The restaurant is not a foodies delight, but it is delicious and gets the job done. The staff are nice, particularly Marzel, Nonky, Pumpkin, Nosi, and Tarryn. The students at the front desk who help Nandi are also fantastic. Customer service is superb. The room cleaners are also great and helpful too. (Don't forget to tip them if you agree that they did a great job!)
