FABULOUS HOTEL IN CAPE TOWN!
---We recently stayed at The Silo for 6 nights during our 6.5 week African Adventure in a Deluxe Superior Suite that was stunning. Floor to ceiling windows gives you gorgeous views of the city, mountains and harbor. Nothing was sparred when building this hotel and the décor. The suite was so spacious with luxurious bedding, heated bathroom floors, large soaking tub, walk in shower, sitting area and balcony. The hotel won a big award for “Best Achievement in Design”.
---I wrote the concierge in advance to plan restaurants and other questions and they responded quickly with great communication. Thank you to Jessica and Cemone for your great service.
---Annelina brought us to our suite and explained everything in detail. She was incredible.
---The food at the Granary Café was exceptional. My husband said one it was one of the best breakfast’s he has had. The pastries were divine. There was a wonderful a la carte menu with many choices. Thank you to Rita , Peter and Rob for your attentive service. All the staff in the restaurant had the best attitudes. Thank you to Nigel (Restaurant Manager) and Daniel (Host).
---We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant 3 nights, that had creative delicious food and loved the views there too.
---There is a marvelous rooftop bar with great drinks- be sure not to miss going there. It is the place to be!
---We also used the lovely Spa. Thanks to Kashiefa and Wardah.
---We were celebrating a special occasion and there were so many treats in our suite including delicious sweets, champagne, rose petals and chocolate covered strawberries. We surely were surprised every day!
---What makes this so hotel FANTASTIC is the General Manager Luis Pinheiro. He is so engaging with his guests, always present and with a great sense of humor. Thank you Luis for making our stay so extraordinary. The beautiful book you gave us is displayed on our coffee table in our home.
--Thank you also to Johandri (Deputy Manager) who was so lovely to us.
---All the staff had the best attitudes with the biggest smiles.
---The hotel is in a great location close to the V & A Waterfront Complex with over 450 stores and restaurants.
---Make sure to allow enough days in Cape Town to enjoy all it has to offer. A highlight was going up the Cable Car to Table Mountain.
---There was one staff member, that stood out to us. He had the biggest smile and we loved him! He brought treats to our room and took care of all our special requests. On night he knew we were watching a USA Playoff game on the TV and he brought us a big bowl of popcorn. Thank you Shingai for making our stay so exceptional! You are an amazing person!
---If you are looking for the BEST hotel in Cape Town with fabulous service, delicious food and gorgeous accommodations than The Silo should be your only choice!
---As I write this review it puts a big smile on my face remembering our 6 nights at...
Read moreI had a table of 10 booked at your rooftop bar for a birthday at 5 to 7pm. The gentlemen at your reception scanned my guest up to the 11th floor but when i went down with some of my guest who went for a smoke break. I returned to the gentlemen and he let myself and my 5guests back up. The lift stopped on the 6th floor a lady who works at your Hotel Amber. Stopped us on the 6th floor rudely asking ( not checking the lift had been scanned up) WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE .. at that time my guest said is this the floor i said no this is the 6th floor and AMBER replied No I THINK YOU SHOULD GET OUT OF HERE AND CHECK IF YOU HAVE A RESERVATION.
Out of respect i said to her you need to calm down if you see we are scanned for the 11th floor and i called my guests back into the lift.
I was so disgusted by how this Amber spoke to myself and my guests. And when i got back up with my guests they were not impresses that they were looked at and judged by her and felt it was rather a racial behaviour that was displayed as everyone was of colour.
So i made my way down to the 6th floor and explained to the gentlemen manning you entrance to the 11th Floor.
When coming to the 6th floor i spoke in front of her and said what she did was rude and unacceptable behaviour from her. She spoke down on myself and my guests and did not bother to see it was scanned to the 11th floor.
While i know you have rules, surely i would not have been scanned to the 11th floor by the ground floor if i never had this reservation.
I spoke to Nick the manager on duty on Saturday who also tried to justify this prejudice racial behviour that was displayed to myself and my guests.
I had many influencial guests with me from Top Singers to Top line Regional managers and Goverment members and they all Will write about such behaviour and never want to recommend such racial prejudice behaviour displayed by your Staff.!!!!!! Worst ever...
Read moreWe booked a table at the rooftop bar while back in the UK as really wanted to enjoy the experience. What transpired when wet got to the rooftop beggars belief with the arrogant attitude of the manager of the bar and our treatment. On getting there, we were being taken to a table with a reserved sign overlooking the waterfront when a couple behind us in the queue were seated there and we were told nothing now available but could sit at a side table overlooking some docks with just the two of us there while everyone else in the buzzing front area. The arrogant manager said they were residents and regardless of our booking prior and paying a 300 Rand deposit, we did not get any seating priorities. Allegedly everyone had reserved as well and oddly just all happened to have a lovely table except for us. The fact the only reservation time I had been offered was 6pm and had got there on time meant nothing. We sat at this side table and I decided not acceptable. Went to the arrogant manager to ask for a refund on my deposit and told not possible. Why? You have not honoured my reservation, you have taken a deposit from me and now refusing to refund me for something I do not want. And then to be told I was being aggressive is simply unbelievable. I have stayed at the finest hotels in the world and received the best service but more importantly, friendship and warmth from the people who work there. I usually recce places by going to the bar or restaurant and then gauging if worth staying there in the future. This treatment tonight has just lost you you a substantial booking from me. Plenty of other stunning Cape Town hotels to stay in. Please take my 300 Rand and if you have any decency give to a charity rather than pocket it for absolute nothing I got in return. Shameful arrogance and nothing anywhere like the warm people of this...
