We were there on 06/04/2025, a day after did my two ocean marathon and we were 3 and from other SA provinces. Time was around 14h00. We all enjoyed our meals as we ordered different meals except for the chips (someone needs to do a better job) and she never ate them inspite dipping them in sauces offered. And please, your juice is of low quality and option for a freshly squeezed juice is not available. Atmosphere was good and welcoming and we opted to sit outside as it was one those hot days. It is the service we received on this particular that was horrible and my view it was not the busiest of days. The lady never introduced herself (we left not knowing who served us), one of us ordered a sirloin steak and only for her to come back 15min to say it is out of stock and she never apologise for the delay so my friend opted for rump. I also ordered rump steak to be medium done and it came well done as you know very dry. Again my friend had order mixed Veg and upon delivering his meal it came with patato chips and again never apologic about that as said 'kukwakwa ayikho apho' (meaning 'ever out of stock place so mixed veg was out of stock too) . Anyway, he had to replace those chips with butternut and cheesy spinach. I decided to accept my well done dry rump steak to avoid further delays as we had go somewhere after the meal. We real enjoyed the food as we were happy with the taste. After finishing our meals I called her using accepted gestures to bring us the bill and she decided not to come and sent two of colleagues and both had good etiquette, except that when asked why is she not coming they said the place is busy but when further ask if the place is busy why the two of you have come to serve us with a bill. We laughed about it, I guess they we sent to try and do some damage control or redress. I will definitely recommend your place as I don't believe one individual can be used to judge to service.

We visited the restaurant on Saturday afternoon, 26 October 2024. Although we initially booked a table inside, most of our group were smokers, so we opted to sit outside in the designated smoking area. Fortunately, there was plenty of space and seating available, making it a convenient choice for us. For a party of six, we ordered two beer towers, starters, and mains. Overall, the group was satisfied with their meals. My main dish was a chicken schnitzel, part of a special that day. Unfortunately, it arrived later than everyone else's meals, as it seemed the waitress had forgotten about it. My friend also experienced a delay with her cocktail order. To their credit, the restaurant was very busy and appeared understaffed, but the waitress remained friendly and apologetic throughout. As for the food, it was mostly average. I was slightly disappointed with my schnitzel—it lacked the golden-brown crispiness I enjoy and was a bit oily, possibly due to being rushed. However, the starters were a pleasant surprise, exceeding my expectations and standing out as the highlight of the meal. Despite the minor setbacks, it was an overall positive experience, and I’d consider returning in the future.

My family and I decided to try Kapstadt Brauhaus for my brother's birthday, since we had all loved the previous German restaurant here, The Paulaner Brauhaus, so much. However we were all very underwhelmed. I started with a pretzel, which was very nice, however when I ordered another pretzel about an hour later it was nothing like the first one. This one was cold and tough. You would think being a German restaurant that they could at least get the pretzels right. I ordered the Buffalo Mozzarella salad for my mains, admittedly you would not expect a German restaurant to have amazing salads, however being a vegetarian I had minimal choice. The salad was a complete rip-off at R110 for what consisted mostly of a huge pile of rocket leaves (which are not the most palatable thing) and tiny croutons. The rest of my family also complained of the tiny portion sizes compared to the price and the minimal beer selection. Besides the food, the live music made talking to my family impossible without shouting and we felt like the entertainment was prioritised over the food.

Yesterday our family decided to give Kaapstad Brauhaus Waterfront a try, for a celebratory lunch. There were 5 of us. We placed our orders and the waitress “tipped” us off that if we were going to order burgers, to pls be aware that the burger buns were not good and if we were to order the burgers we should be aware, (in other words don’t complain as you’ve been informed upfront). 2 of us who would have ordered burgers decided to go for the chicken Caesar wraps instead based off what the waitress had said about the buns. 1 person decided to take a chance and ordered a burger anyway. Our orders were placed and much later the waitress came to say that unfortunately we couldn’t have the chicken Caesar wraps as they were out of wraps. This left us feeling frustrated and actually wanting to leave but decided to stay. We then ordered pizza instead. My husband got up and went to speak to the manager who stated there was nothing wrong with the burger buns and there were wraps in stock which allowed everyone to go back to their original orders after we had been sitting for some time already, with the waitress saying she would have to cancel previous orders with the kitchen (not my problem)The food came after quite a bit of a wait even though the restaurant was empty and there was nothing wrong with the burger buns. Somehow it felt like the waitress/chef had tried to steer us from not ordering certain things and were trying to influence our orders. A bit of a disappointing first experience at...

Our waiter was Daniel, he was absolutely phenomenal. We came to watch the redbull flugtag event. We arrived at 11:20. We got there and the hostess were so rude and approached us with a sarcastic tone. They didn’t want to assist us and told us the shop is full but there were 3, 4 seaters opened with no booking signs. We walked to the table and sat down. We were then approached by Daniel who offered to take out order even though it wasn’t his section.

We placed our drinks and then food order.

The manager then came to us and told us we can’t sit here as it’s a 4 seater but we were 5. I then told him everyone sitting at the 4 seater tables are over 4 and he then proceeded to tell us we can’t sit there and need to leave. He proceeded to go tell the table behind us as their food had arrived that they also need to leave as they were also 5 at the table for 4.

After I told him that’s unfair and the door host should have communicated with us once we had sit down and before we ordered food he said “well did you make a booking ?” With sarcasm, Both of the table replied no and then he said we must leave.

Our food took over 2 hours and we eventually cancelled it as the two tables that came after us had already gotten their food and the whole experience ruined the day.

I think that is an absolutely shocking attitude to have towards your customers and if it wasn’t for Daniel we would have...
