We stayed at Knysny Inn for 1 day. It is a simple “hotel”, where you get, what you are paying for – it is cheep.||||The check in was ok. You have to ring the doorbell to get into the reception. It took some time before the door was opened. Parking is behind the property, but it is secured parking.|| ||The room was ok – nothing special. It was clean, but not air condition, so it was hot inside the room. The Wi-Fi worked fine. ||||The hotel has a cozy courtyard, but there were some young guests at the property, who had a party to 4 am in the morning, so there was a lot of noise from the courtyard. There is also some noise from the main street.||||The location is perfect – in the middle of Knysna – close to restaurants and shops. The location could not be better.||||Conclusion||It is an ok property, if you compare it to the price you are paying for a room. I will choose a better hotel next time I am in Knysny. I guess the price attracted young people and backpackers, so you should expect some nice at...
Read moreI rented a room for 4 nights as I was due in Knysna on business in early September 2023. A day later, I was offered accommodation at no extra cost for the period.|I notified the edtablishment (see attached), but was told there is a no refund policy for cancellations made less than 60 days in advance. As this is preposterously unethical, I cancelled my booking on 4 August on principle. Such business practices should neither be ignored nor rewarded. I urged them to reconsider and advised I would not surrender a couple of thousands without seeking redress from the appropriate structures. I was then called "abusive" for calling the no zero refubd policy unethical, and accused of being "threatening" for stating that I would bring this to the attention of business bureaus and legal counsel.|You CANNOT have a zero refund policy on a booking fully paid in advance and cancelled with 30 days notice. That is unacceptable and outrage is the only...
Read moreParking is not ideal. When booking, I specifically asked for secure parking and was told to park anywhere only to get woken up in the middle of the night by some other guests saying we parked in their spot. Our car had to move to a random space behind someone else as there was nowhere else to park. Additionally, if you are a light sleeper like myself, avoid this place as it's just by a busy street, and there were some noises.
The biggest pro for this place is that the receptionist and lady at the laundry seemed lovely.
Update: Had a genuine conversation with the owner who explained the reason for the mess mainly driven by the unreasonable character of the other guests. However, I still believe they should better manage the parking situation to avoid such...
