Livingstone Villa (with Oceanview) — Hotel in George

Book with absolute caution !!

We had booked Livingstone Villa via booking.com. We were very impressed by the look of the villa and the positive reviews ... it looked absolutely perfect for what we were looking for in our trip to South Africa

The problems started after we had paid. The owner had messaged us via the booking.com chat and mentioned that there account had been "compromised" and asked us to share personal email's and phone numbers which we found very odd. We messaged back saying we would prefer to use the booking message portal.

We exchanged a couple more messages on check in and we were looking forward to our stay

On the lead up to our trip we messaged them double checking everything was ok ... but no response which made us concerned. Which we then spoke with Booking.com just to double check everything was ok. Which they assured us it was

On the day we traveled to Livingstone we received a message from them confirming our stay and they asked us to contact them directly on mobile or emails as they did not want to release the door code via the platform.

We set off on our journey from Cape Town (took 5 hours) and arrived at the property. We had called them several times and sent WhatsApps & Emails all which were un-responded and emails bounced.

We got to the property and tried to contact again and spoke with Booking.com to see if they can speak with them which we had to wait a further hour

3 Hours had passed by and we got an email confirming that our booking had now been canceled by Livingstone

This has now come to a major cost to us as we have had to book alternate accom and all but ruined our stay

Be very cautious...

Terrible Experience – Would Not Recommend

Our stay at Livingstone Villa was extremely disappointing and distressing, especially considering it was meant to be part of our honeymoon. When we arrived, the staff assigned to hand over the villa not only took two hours to finish — despite us confirming our arrival time well in advance — but also left the bathroom smelling awful, as if it had just been used.

Once inside, we discovered a large spider in the bathroom, which we tried to tolerate, only to later find a scorpion in the second bathroom. This was completely unacceptable and terrifying, especially given the claim that the villa had been cleaned and checked before our arrival. The windows were shut, yet there were signs of insect and spider infestation.

When we contacted the owner, rather than taking full accountability, we were met with emotional manipulation — being told that this villa was her only source of income. This, after we had paid a substantial amount to stay there. My wife was so disturbed by the situation that we had no choice but to cut our honeymoon short and pay out-of-pocket to stay elsewhere.

The owner eventually agreed to a full refund, but almost a year later, we are still waiting. Booking.com has been unable to retrieve the funds, and the owner continues to avoid responsibility.

We paid over R10,000 for a ruined experience. If you care about cleanliness, safety, and honest service — I strongly advise against staying at...

Die Livingstone Villa ist ein dreistöckiges Haus an einer ruhigen Straße in den Hügeln über Wilderness gelegen. Die Zufahrt erfolgt durch eine einspurige Auffahrt, die per Spiegel einzusehen ist.||||Es gibt zwei Parkplätze vor dem, ebenfalls als Ferienhaus vermieteten, Nachbarhaus.||||Der Zugang erfolgt über eine schmale Treppe, über Holzplanken und schlussendlich weiteren Treppen. Der Haupteingang ist im mittleren Stockwerk.||||In der Livingstone Villa gibt es jede Annehmlichkeit, die man sich wünschen kann. Von der vollausgestatteten Küche, der geschmackvollen Einrichtung, den tollen Betten, den wunderschönen Bädern, der Terrasse und als Nonplusultra den eigenen Splashpool bleibt kein Wunsch offen.||||Marianna, die Besitzerin wohnt nicht vor Ort. Der Kontakt fand ausschließlich per Email statt. Ich hatte über Nightsbridge gebucht, dabei aber nicht beachtet, dass der Mietpreis per Überweisung und nicht per Kreditkarte zahlbar ist. Marianna war so vertrauensvoll und hat mir zugestanden den vollen Mietpreis erst bei unserem Aufenthalt in bar an ihren Bruder zu zahlen. Fand ich wirklich großartig, eine Überweisung hätte 57,50 Euro gekostet.||||Im mittleren Stockwerk befinden sich in offener Bauweise die Küche und der Wohnbereich. Vom Wohnbereich geht es auf die Terrasse mit dem Splashpool. Sonnenschirm und schöne bequeme Liegen mit Auflagen sind vorhanden.||||Im unteren Stockwerk, das sehr finster ist, weil kaum Fenster vorhanden sind, ist eine Wohn-Sitz-Ecke und zwei Single Beds vorhanden.||||Im obersten Stockwerk befinden sich die Schlafzimmer und Bäder. Neben jedem Schlafzimmer ist ein toll ausgestattetes Bad, außerdem hat jedes Schlafzimmer eine eigene Terrasse. Die Terrasse von Schlafzimmer 1 ist etwa halb so groß wie die Hauptterrasse, die Terrasse von Schlafzimmer 2 ist deutlich kleiner.||||Die Schlafzimmer haben jeweils ein Kingbett. In jedem Schlafzimmer gibt es einen Fernseher und einen Gaskamin. Im Schrank von Schlafzimmer 1 gibt es einen Safe. In jedem Schlafzimmer gibt es einen Ventilator. Es gibt keine AC.||||In den Bädern neben den Schlafzimmern gibt es jeweils WC, zwei Waschbecken, eine Badewanne, außerdem eine Dusche mit tollen Duschköpfen. Es gibt vielerei Lotions, Badezusätze und Seifen zur Auswahl.||||Im Wohnbereich gibt es einen Gaskamin, außerdem eine Grillmöglichkeit. Auf der Terrasse steht außerdem ein Webergrill bereit.||||Die Küche ist voll ausgestattet mit Gasherd, Backofen, Mikrowelle, Spülmaschine, Kühlschrank, Gefrierschrank, Wasserkocher, Toaster, Kaffeemaschine, Kaffeekapsel-Maschine, Waschmaschine und Trockner.||||Im Hauptstockwerk gibt es noch ein weiteres kleines Bad mit WC und Dusche.||||Die Türen zur Hauptterrasse und Schlafzimmer 1 lassen sich komplett öffnen, indem man sie zur Seite schiebt.||||Der Pool war abgedeckt als wir angekommen sind, dadurch war er sauber. Es ist auch ein Roboter drin, der den Pool die ganze Zeit reinigt.||||WIFI ist vorhanden mit...
