The Tops Guest House - Wilderness SA — Hotel in George

After climbing a few stairs we received a very warm welcome from Tom. It felt as if we were old friends being welcomed into his home.

Tom showed us around, answered our questions, gave recommendations on what to do and where to eat, and helped me out with a plug adapter.

The entire feel of the place is fantastic, with wooden floors and a big book shelf in the main area, a dining area on the deck, and comfortable rooms equipped with a kettle and fridge (and a fantastic, hot shower with high-pressure water).

And then, there is the view! Sea, beach, mountains, it is all there. It was so spectacular I had to force myself to leave, and when I did, I felt a little empty.

Tom and Magda served a fantastic, home-cooked breakfast, and were the perfect hosts.

The Tops is not only closely situated to the village but offers a comfortable stay with a warm atmosphere and an unbelievable view of Wilderness. Neatly nestled among the natural indigenous surroundings with a prolific bird life and the sounds of nature all around. Tom and Magda, my host, are people persons and chattered away of life in the Garden Route and what it offers as a lifestyle here on one of the most pristine coastlines in South Africa. Needing a one-night stay-over, my wife & I booked a room with breakfast at The Tops. The booking was smooth, friendly and efficient. Payment was easy and we received a welcoming Email from Management. They also informed us that they were upgrading us to a more luxurious space.||We were welcomed by Tom upon arrival and shown our beautiful "Apartment" with a view to be envied. Everything was absolutely spotless and we enjoyed all the small things that were in the bathroom and kitchenette.
