A Mixed Experience at Pomodoro (eaten here 3x)
Italian eatery that offers a contemporary twist on classic Italian cuisine. While the overall experience had its highs, it also had its share of lows.
Ambiance and Service (4/5): One of the standout aspects of my visit was the ambiance and service. The restaurant exuded a warm and inviting atmosphere, with cozy lighting and tasteful decor. The attentive and friendly staff contributed significantly to the positive ambiance. They were quick to seat us, take our orders, and answer any questions we had. It’s clear that the restaurant places a strong emphasis on customer service, and this was greatly appreciated.
Lasagne (3/5): The lasagne I ordered, however, left something to be desired. While it wasn’t terrible, it was far from remarkable. The layers of pasta and filling were adequate, but the flavors lacked the depth and richness that I associate with a great lasagne. It seemed somewhat rushed and lacked the homemade touch that makes this dish special. It left me wanting more in terms of flavor and authenticity.
Pizza (3/5): The pizza was a mixed bag. The crust was crispy, and the toppings were fresh, but the tomato sauce was surprisingly sweet, almost overpoweringly so. It detracted from the overall balance of flavors that I expect from a good pizza. The sweetness of the sauce seemed to mask the other ingredients, leaving me wishing for a more savory and traditional Italian taste.
In conclusion Pomodoro offers a pleasant dining experience with a welcoming ambiance and attentive service. However, the deviations from traditional Italian flavors in both the lasagne and pizza may not appeal to those seeking a more authentic Italian culinary experience. While the food was not bad by any means, it fell short of the high expectations set by the restaurant’s charming ambiance...
Read moreThe pizzas are absolutely fantastic. Thin crispy wood fired base and all the pizzas come with amazing quality Parma ham (my personal favourite) instead of normal ham made it absolutely exquisite.
Our food arrived EXTREMELY quickly partly because due unbelievably massive pizza ovens they have. My pizza was marginally colder than my finances pizza but that is nitpicking. I honestly can’t fault the pizzas or place other than that!
I didn’t catch the name of the waiter because it was busy and I struggled hearing in loud spaces but he was super sweet and came to check in on us exactly when he should. He was attentive and remembered details such as I cant have lemon in my water (a usual detail that most get wrong). We were also welcomed warmly by the door as a side note :)
All in all I definitely recommend this amazing place for its pizzas and the accommodation of the staff.
I am very sad to report that people do vandalise the card books in pen (NOT the restaurants fault) and I implore everyone not to do it as I can tell it is an extremely...
Read morePomodoro has been a constant spot in the ever fickle restaurant business in Wilderness. After last night I'm sure that they will not easily see my business again. We phoned for a take away pizza order of 5 pizzas and were told it would take half an hour. When we arrived 30 minutes after the order we were told that the pizzas were being boxed. Then 20 minutes later we were told that the pizzas were being made. We were also told that pizzas take long because they are a pizza restaurant?????? Not sure about that logic. What was most disappointing was the actual pizzas. Very little cheese and hardly any toppings. Almost as if they had run out of ingredients. Everyone felt that they needed to eat something else after the meager offerings of the pizza. Just all very underwhelming and not up to the usual standards. What is particularly sad is that during this lock down we would have probably made use of their services quite a lot. Not going...
