Perna Perna Mossel Bay — Hotel in George

Well located and clean these are decent units for a short stay. In need of refurbishment though , the beds & pillows need to be replaced as were as hard as nails. Partial views of the sea depending on the unit you get. Ours was obscured on the ground floor by other buildings and our terrace was tiny. My in -laws had a much better terrace but no sea view. Lighting harsh & hospital like , the whole place needed softening. Biggest drawback was the lack of back up power with load shedding. The first holiday accommodation we’d been to in SA without any. Happy to let you get plunged into darkness with a battery lamp for company. This was poor and needs to be addressed. Staff very friendly & lovely. Sorted out the lack of hair dryer , hand soap & washing up liquid quickly. Impressed with the washing machine & tumble dryer in the unit. The pool is great but the area far too small . Can seat 6 people max around the pool. We waited hours for another party to leave before we could swim. A max time in the pool needs to be organised as otherwise it’s dominated by the group that gets there first! Can’t imagine what it’s like in the school holidays! We had a 3 night stay and arriving at Perna Perna it looked clean, bright and tidy from the road. We had a private parking space under shade corresponding to our apartment number. All the staff were happy, polite and so very helpful. The apartment which is on 2 levels was spacious and again spotlessly clean and tidy. There were 2 bathrooms so ample if 6 people staying. There was everything in the apartment needed for a stay from the kitchen to the bathroom. We were lucky to have a view of The Point from our balcony, and the view of the mountain range across the bay was stunning in the mornings when the sun rose behind them. If you want to braai, there is one on the balcony. There is a clean, sparkling pool, but we were too busy sight seeing to make use of it otherwise we would have been in it like a shot as we did have a couple of hot days. Would definitely stay at Perna Perna again as it is within walking distance of most places and the standard of cleanliness and the fantastic attitude of the staff...

Perfect location, and close (400m) to the iconic Mossel Bay Point. The apartment is spacious enough for 6 people, and has all the amenities you might need (especially the kitchen). Great views too. Definitely a home away from home. Staff are super friendly and very helpful. Very clean and apartments are also freshened up daily.

Whilst the apartment block itself is fairly quiet, the location unfortunately lends itself to surrounding noises until late in the evening. Being close to the caravan park and two bars, you can hear chatter and music etc. until about 12pm most nights. This was during peak season though and am sure during the off season it would...
