Point Village Guesthouse — Hotel in George

We were planning to stay over with our kids and dogs (all welcome), but due to a change of plans on short notice it was just my husband and I who shared the cottage with sleeping facilities for 8. We were as good as on the rocks next to beach and approximately 70 meters from a choice of two restaurants, one of which was going to be our choice for the evening in any case! What a warm welcome at reception where De Waal gave us one look and judged us (quite accurately) to be interested in heritage and all things unique and local.We were given a quick summary of the nearby cave dwellers and a 2 second run through history which we found interesting. The breakfast however is also worthy of mention: At exactly 8 (as requested) 2 trays packed with a substantial breakfast of sausage (huge banger) and eggs and fresh tomato, but the fresh orange juice was especially a winner with the added bowl of yoghurt and fresh fruits(I counted approximately 6 types). Delicious. This is a cute cottage beautifully setup and obviously people managing that love...

Booked for one night unexpected stay over in Mossel Bay we had the top room of the guest house .|The overall appearance is shabby and paint chipped and badly painted stairs .|The stairs leading up to the upper story room are very steep .The overall appearance of the room is shabby the place was dirty , the bath is basically at the end of the bed with the toilet and sink just next to it . There was 1 cup left for the tea /coffee making facilities so we took it in turn to have a cup of tea .|The bed was relatively comfortable but the pillows were hard and lumpy.|Overall the room is strange and the " bathroom" too close to the bed, the deck outside has got a great seaview , but it really needs a upgrade .|The photos are of the bath...

Absolutely horrible treatment. Avoid these terrible people at all cost. We stayed there with my partner who suffers of CF which causes her to cough blood from time to time. During this stay she had an attack and coughed blood on the beding and used a towel to contain the blooding. The next morning we wanted to wash the towel and linen only to find two "Out of order" washing machines in the kitchen. The stupid receptionist then had the audacity to call me to replace the effected goods. She went on to say we left the crockery dirty, come on this is a serviced place. Will they not rewash the crockery for the next visitors ? If you suffer any terminal condition avoid these insensitive people...
